From what I've read on HT internet forums, it's either :thumbsup: or :thumbsdown: w/ great emotion. How do you feel about BOSE speakers?

patiently waits for the no highs no lows must be bose.

basically they are overpriced, underachieving, moderately reliable speakers.

i love the bose outdoor speakers i have, throw them underwater, snowed on, rained on, iced on, and they still work.

Nice, but overpriced. YoyoYoHowsDaJello (sp?) has a good link in his sig. Great for movies in a home rig if you can afford it, but you can do a LOT better for what they charge.

Okay, let's say what BOSE charges over their size Kaido 🙂
 
They're great if someone else is buying them for you and you're planning to donate them to charity....otherwise, they are overpriced, overhyped and underwhelming.

You can do much much better than BOSE.

That was true for their weird-ass things with no woofers or tweeters, only a bunch of six inch full-range drivers.

These days, for their cube/woofer things, well, they've got no mids.

Anyway, some Bose sets sound decent enough, but shouldn't command quite the primium price they do.
 
Oh, and if you want good alternatives with keeping size down (if that's what you're looking for), then there are a ton of alternatives listed in that article.

You can get an incredible set of full sized speakers for the $2000 to $3000 an expensive bose set costs.

Are you looking for small stuff to keep the SO happy? 😉
