how do you know he was writing a ticket? Just because he wrote something down doesn't mean it's a ticket.

besides, it's stupid to write a ticket to a marked police car just for that reason. My city allows emergency service vehicles to park in the red zone.

Maybe they were faking it for you so that you would think they were writing tickets. I thought the red zone is for emergency service vehicles.

A speeding off duty cop hit my wife?s car a couple of years ago. She made sure he got a citation for his reckless driving and speeding at the scene. She told me he was begging her to let him off but she stood firm. I don't know what happened to him afterwards though.

She just reminded me that he was on his way to a state training program.

Do off-duty cops get pulled over for speeding?

what if he's on an urgent call and he has to get there quick? You don't know.

To answer your question: yes, i can get discipline if i drive too fast to non-urgent calls. The professional standard bureau in my department randomly send out unmarked police cars to catch street cops who are speeding. These unmarked police cars are equipped with mobile data terminal(computer) so they know exactly what everyone is doing.

impersonating a cop in your fake thread is one thing. doing it in random threads is a bit over the line imho.

Yes, it can be done. When he is speeding, pull up next to him and wave a gun at him. He'll know you mean business and pull over. Once he does, tell him you are pulling him over because you pay his salary through your taxes. Tell him to call his sergeant out to the scene and ask him to bring the SWAT team. You never know if the cop will go quietly and they might need the extra help.

Was this red zone located near a donut shop?

Oldsmoboat, you forget to include, "threaten to make him as dead as the schmuck in your trunk", if he doesn't comply. Cops love it when you do that.....really!! ;)

OP, never mind pulling the speeding police office over, just do a PIT maneuver on him!!

More than likely because people think what they want to believe should be what the law is.

Idk about cops pulling cops over but, I pulled a cop over once.

I was rolling through the north end of Denver on a Sunday on my bike and almost out of gas. Back then anyways, they had some strange blue law about not selling gas on Sundays. So, I pulled along side the cruiser and waved him over to the shoulder. He pulls over a gives me a pretty strange look but, I laughingly explain 'I always wanted to do that' and ask where the hell can I gas up?

Knowing that every time someone get's robbed, shot, mugged, or has their house broken into that there is some idiot sitting along a road running a speed trap or at an interstate on ramp checking for out of date registration, I have enjoyed returning the favor with a little 9-1-1 love. The last one was when a non-divided 4 lane road in an industrial park was being worked on and the 2 oncoming lanes were closed with the other 2 lanes split with cones and temporary lane markings into 1 lane each way. I see headlights behind me that look like they're in the wrong lane and as I catch a stop light the headlights pull up besides me. After a moment on the phone explaining that I've got a driver driving the wrong direction down this road they ask for a plate number, I say I can't see the plate # but it is marked with PD ### on the side   :D  Lady on the line says thanks I'll let him know.
