for pullups i do sets of
10, 8, then 6
right after each set i then take a bit smaller than shoulder width grip palms facing forward and do a set of 10 reps squeezing my back (like trying to touch my shoulder blades together), my arms bend slightly but i don't pull myself all the way up...

3 sets, 20, 15, 10. so thats 45.

those diamond pushups were hard at first, now i can do 4 sets, 25,20,15,and 10

4 sets as follows:

1st set = 12 reps w/ 60lb dumbell hanging from belt + body weight
2nd set = 10 reps w/ 40lb dumbell hanging from belt + body weight
3rd set = 8 reps w/ 40lb dumbell hanging from belt + body weight
4th set = 10 reps w/ 20lb dumbell hanging from belt + body weight

Most I ever did without any extra weight 26 (with strict form)

That is with a 5'10" 180lb body

It is the start of my back day workout that consists of the following:

4 sets weighted pull-ups
4 sets one-arm rows
4 sets barbell rows
4 super-sets of cable rows and lat pulldowns
4 sets t-bar rows
5 sets deadlifts
4 sets hyper-extensions

<< what's the dif between a pull-up and a chin-up? >>

Pull-up is when your palms face out, and a chin-up is when your palms face in toward you.

I think I did 33 the last time we tested in High School(about 10 yrs ago). Now? Scared to guess...could probably still do 20 or so but would probably throw up afterwards.

When I was in school, we did the Marine's Physical Fitness Test and had a Marine Sargeant come in to give the tests. You did all of the tests COMPLETELY correctly or they didn't count at all. I teach HS PE myself...nowadays, you can't even get a HS kid to do 10 pushups correctly unless you offer him $100 and then say it's ok when they only do 8. 😛

Now, 3. Not too bad since I'm 40lb overwieght right now (6'1 225) A year ago when I weighed 185-190 I could do 5 to 7 dependinding on tiredness/soreness. Being fat sucks 🙁

I see, so pull-ups are more difficult I take it.

Yes.
The biceps are in the best position in terms of mechanical advantage when you do chins, so they feel easier for most people. Chins also give you a more complete range of motion. And since the biceps will give out first with either exercise, I feel that chins are the best. But if you are in the military or you are a climber, then you should do some pullups so that you get used to them. Pullups hit some certain back muscles much more than others, while chins hit the back much more evenly. If you need to demonstrate your strength in the military with pullups or use your strength in climbing then pullups are for you.
