PSN down. Update8: Welcome Back Package is Live

LBP downloaded successfully but Infamous is stuck at 1GB, should I wait it out or should I cancel and re'download?
 
I'm just going to wait a few days and let all you suckers beta test the welcome back program for me. The two games I've picked out were obviously not purchased previously, so I can wait a few more days before playing them.

Everything is working fine for me. I'll get the ocasional error but then I'll just go back into and it'll work fine.

I am not going to be near my ps3 till Wednesday anyway, hope things are smoother by then.
 
So I downloaded all the games lol. I had to make two additional ps3 profiles to get them but luckily they work across all accounts so I can still use my master profile.

Plus is only free for a month. After that everything you download through Plus will no longer work unless you resubscribe.
 
I finally booted mine up for the first time since "the event". Lots of errors, but after tinkering for about a half hour I was able to get the update and reset my password to log into the PS network.

Still can't get Netflix to work; the update hangs before it reaches 20% every time. I'll try again later tonight.

I was able to get the 1st free game (I think), but something happened during the process for the 2nd one. I got an error message while trying to check out, and the icon for free PS3 game #2 is gone. Oh well.

From PS Blog:

If this happened, go to the XMB and under the PlayStation Network column, go to Account Management>Transaction Management>Services List>SCEA Promotions to download the game for that first slot.
 
2 free games for spending like an hour to change passwords on accounts that had the same password as my PSN account. not bad at all. chose infamous and wipeout HD.
 
Decided on Wipeout and Stardust. Already have LBP and Infamous. Kind of disappointed the US folks didn't get a Ratchet and Clank choice like some of the EU folks are reporting... depending on what it was I would have liked that. While going through the process of getting these, I got an error popup every time I pushed a button. But it still went through fine in the background so I would just close out of the error every time and it worked. Still a lot of work to do before they actually get it running properly again.

Anyway I've only played stardust so far and it's fun enough. Geometry wars mixed with asteroids on a smaller spherical surface which is different.
 
I went with Dead Nation and Super Stardust HD for PS3. Already had the other games on that list.

For PSP, went with Killzone: Liberation and Mod-Nation Racers.

Also saw Assassin's Creed II is $20 now. Will have to get a PSN gift card this weekend for that. I'll be waiting forever for the DRM to get stripped from the PC version.
 
I ended up going with Dead Nation and Wipeout HD. Havne't played Dead Nation yet, but played a few rounds of Wipeout and liked it. Not playing very well yet though 😱

Thanks a lot, Queasy.

I navigated to the transactions list, and sure enough, there were 3 there. Two for the "free PS3 game" and one for the first game I picked.

By clicking on the "free PS3 game" icon that was unused I was able to re-pick a second free game.

If you hadn't of posted I might have just said "screw it" and let it go.

Thanks for the tip. I will have to try this when I get home. Been having a lot of fun with inFamous so I wasn't overly concerned about a second free game.
