if I could find the old double bladed Sensor Excels, I'd be in heaven.

For now I buy the disposable Mach 3. Since I started growing my terrorist beard, I only shave a couple times a week. It didn't make sense to keep buying the expensive ones when they would deteriorate before they wore out.

I think you try real hard to bitch about your situation.

I never bitched about the drama my Fu Manchu beard brought me when after my first injury side-lined me. After I started meeting with C types in my company, I adjusted that a bit.

If you are being paid by someone, sadly you have to comply. Most of the time if you are worth less than 7 figure checks and more than 3 figure ones, you have a broad range to play with.

You can't find Sensor Excels? I buy them to keep on hand if I go travelling with only carry-on luggage. I don't think I have had any trouble finding them.

I would get the merkur 34c again. I also have an Edwin Jagger that I don't like compared to that merkur. I think its rely subjective though

I just ordered this the other day. Should be here soon.
Got this, brush and shaving soap. Will post results.

I have actually tried getting a shave at a few barbers and they suck.

I just switched to a safety razor. It took a bit of training to get the angle right, but now I can't be happier with my shave (and the cost).

I shave my face and my head with bacon. It doesn't appear to be working so well.

SuperCuts is probably a poor choice for a shave.

Why do you need a lather brush with DE razors?
Can't you just use regular shaving cream? (Barbasol)

You can, there is no reason not to (besides just enjoying it).

My grandfather has used a DE razor and Barbasol longer than I've been alive.

If you're cutting waste, you might as well cut all of it. A brush and soap is much cheaper, and less wasteful than a pressurized can of foam.

And the foam is mixed up with hot water so you are applying hot lather to your face. Its a nice luxury and I think it glides the razor better on my face than canned shaving cream

I could not be happier with my DE razor. It is not only a huge cost savings from anything by Gillette, it gives me a much better cut and the blades last longer.

The only thing I will throw in here is to be very cautious for the first week or so. There are tons of videos on youtube on how to get the best shave out of these.

You can also get some that are good for your skin. Also i seem to get a better shave with good brush and soap then a can of cream.

not to mention the bar of soap i have has lasted roughly a year. I got 2 bars for $4 and still have one left!

though thinking i will get the cream when my bar is done. it's a little more expensive but better.

A can of Barbasol is like $1.87 and lasts, literally, forever.
I have had the same can for at least 6 months and I shave ~3 times a week with a razor and the rest of the time with electric.

To each his own. I have yet to try soap/brush method.

6 months seems long. But Barbasol type stuff lasts a lot longer than the stupid gels.
