I'm sure it was as well, but the same applies to the elected members. Most of them are not idiots, they know the scoop, its just theatrics to ensure their reelection.

And Jim Jordan with the self-fulfilling prophecy and goal post moving. Trump shouldn't be impeached because aid was withheld, it's because he asked for a favor and threatened withholding aid. Whether or not it "happened" is entirely irrelevant.

The problem is it doesn't matter what they look like or what they say. Lines have already been drawn and sides chosen. Very few people are going to flip no matter what actually is said/done today.

Media just needs to keep this simple -

If your wife's boss asks her to give him a blowjob or she loses her job, but she doesn't actually give the blowjob because HR found out about the demand...it's still a crime.
