Eh...no it's not bad if you use the native control scheme. I can see it feeling terrible with a mouse but on the game pad it's fine.
 
Man, God of War is shaping up to be a great new game. I really hope these early reviewers aren't simply building the hype.

I'm purposely not looking into the details yet because I want it to be awesome, but it almost sounds like they toned down the insanity level--which actually could be a good thing. God of War III, while I loved it, was basically just a big murder spree with upgrades that helped you murder even more. This new game gives me the impression that it won't all be about savagely killing everything from start to finish.

Yeah this game, from what little I've read about it seems to be more along the lines of Horizon Zero Dawn now. Combat is more strategic and rewarding, more exploration, larger environments.

Stop making me want to buy it. I already have a backlog large enough to last the next decade.
 
I hope it's not like HZD, doesn't look much like it from the videos I've seen. I couldn't get into HZD after like an hour or so. And there's not a chance in hell the voice acting is going to be as awful in GOW as it is in HZD.

ok...

I was only referring to the larger environments and more open world aspects as well as the different combat from past games. It’s much closer to something like HZD than not.
 
HZD was awesome; i finally wrapped it up last night lol. i didn't really notice any voice issues...? I'm so tempted to poke around for details on the new GoW but i'm forcing myself not to.
 
So the new God of war is open environment? All the reviews are giving it good scores but I wonder if that's also for the graphics and environment more than the story.

Definitely want to get it Friday. Been playing farcry lately and yet have to finish HZ too. I think one more main story misison.

A lot more open than previously anyway. I've not really delved into the details because I don't want to spoil anything but it appears to offer you more freedom and less linearity. You can explore the map pretty much however you want from what I've read. It's not as big as say GTA though. The formula isn't the traditional open world style with a checklist of stuff to do in different zones either. So it's kind of in between open world and not.

Sounds interesting..not going to read any reviews because I also don't want to spoil myself. Looking forward to it. I hope they also refined the combat. Always been a fan of God of war and I'm glad it's finally going to be out. Although I'm eagerly also waiting for days gone but that got pushed to 2019.
 
Damn I just found out God of War comes out Friday. I just assumed it came out Tuesday cause games always do other than Nintendo games.
 
I never preorder but this one has me thinking I should. I can get 20% off from Best buy or Amazon but I don't see it on Amazon. Even if amazon gave a digital key I'd take that because this one I wouldn't trade in.
 
I preordered it at Amazon for $48 back in January. It's been going in/out of stock the past week so keep checking there.

Thanks I just pre-ordered it on Amazon. Never did this on Amazon before but I got it for the same price I would get it at Best buy with gamers club unlocked. Does it arrive the same day it comes out? I have prime if that matters.

As long as you select release day delivery, yeah it will.
 
Sucks I won't be able to play it until next week because I'm going away for the weekend because it looks like the best game of the year so far.
 
It didn't say anything about release day delivery but it had 2 day shipping and on their site it says if you want to get it the day it's out to select free to two day shipping option. Since I have prime that's already included. It says it should arrive Friday by 8pm.

Damnit it now my Amazon order says it's arriving Tuesday. Apparently it had an old card on my profile that needed updating and it didn't notify me until today.

I think I will just cancel it and try and get it in a store Friday. I don't understand why changing my payment method did this. Changing shipping speed I could understand but it hasn't even shipped yet.

I had that happen to me as well with Hot Shots Golf last year. I preordered it like 6 months before it was out and I had canceled the card. It happens because they charge you at time of shipping. If your payment doesn't go through, your item can't be shipped. And I did it really early the day prior to release day, just like you did.

Then after you change it, there isn't someone there to immediately ship it out again (is my guess). So it gets put back into the queue. It sucks for sure but not much you can do about it. I chatted with like 5 different people and there was nothing they could do. In the end it was 100% my fault though, as this is yours.

What I did at the time was just rent it from Redbox on release day. But that was a Tuesday and I got it the next day so I only had to pay for it for one night. In your case, you could just go buy it in store then when you get it from Amazon, go return that to the store, so you can still get it at the $48 price.

I woke up to the email stating mine shipped and will be arriving tomorrow.
