A PC port would be considered "milking it" at this point anyway. It might sell 100k copies, maybe. I think most PC gamers have either played it on the 360 or just don't care about it in the first place.

But that's never really stopped them before. :)

Maybe I should give my 360 a swift kick and get a free upgrade, LOL. It hasn't failed on me yet and I have one of the earlier editions. I'm amazed reading all the horror stories and this rig has been rock solid.

I think we are all seeing the beginning stages of streaming technology going into widespread use. Fast broadband is now quite affordable.....I pay just $29/month to Charter Comm. for 10 mbps speed. And I guess ATT and Verizon have something similar. I use an older Linksys WRT54G wireless router and I still peg the cap on PlayOn's streaming speed. I use my PS3 just as much for Netflix/Hulu streaming as I do for playing games or watching Blu rays. It's quite a versatile rig (BTW, the 360 streams as well). It will be interesting to see where the next gen consoles go with respect to gaming/high def TV/streaming/ et. al.

Halo 2 didn't come out on the PC until 2 1/2 years after it came out on the Xbox, so it's not outside the realm of possibility. But again, it might as well just be an Xbox 360 exclusive if you can't play it until 2 1/2 years after it comes out.

Exactly. They released Halo 1 for the PC right around the same time as Halo 2 for the Xbox didn't they?

QFT

That's why I went PS3.

Exactly, because Halo 3, Gears 2, Forza 2, Crackdown, and many other games are available for PC...

Wait, not they're not.

PC got Gears 1 what, a year or so after it came out on the 360? It got Halo 1 and 2, but not 3 (and it won't). I'm just trying to figure out how you all are playing these 360 exclusives on your PC's?

Both systems have their exclusives, timed or otherwise. There are a few games that only the 360 will get, there are some that 360 and PC will get, and there are some that all 3 will get.

They're just saving Halo 3 for Direct X11 because direct ports from MS consoles to the PC require Direct X versions at least 2 generations higher than the said console supports. This is why Halo 2 requires Direct X10...really. ;)

get both and have the best of two worlds.

then you won't have to try and justify your reasoning for buying one over the other on intenet forums.

Yeah, instead you can claim that your opinion of which system is better than the other system is validated because you own both. You can play both sides!

see, R Nilla knows the game.

Weak, be a man, pick a side, stick with it.

Nope, it's strong, because you get to enjoy both and variety is the spice of life.

I'm going to throw a curve and say that I've been playing my PS2, that's right PS-TWO, the past month because I just got back into JRPG that is only on the PS2. Sure I can play it on my BC PS3, but my son's on there or the wife is watching BR movies. I have 2 RPGs that I haven't even opened for my 360, but I want to play these specific PS2 RPG.

See I can play a 3rd side. Heheheee...it's fun to be different.

There are also some AWESOME PS2 survival horror titles, Siren, Haunting Ground, stuff like that.

There's a reason why the PS2 still sells a sizably number of units every month. It's a great console with a huge library of quality games. I hope the PS3 enjoys the same treatment.

The PS2 thoroughly destroyed its competition (something like 120 million vs 25 million), so developers kept making games for it well after the PS3 came out (which probably hurt the PS3 a lot). I know Sony wants the PS3 to have a long lifecycle, but I just don't think anyone is going to care enough about this generation's last place console when next-gen consoles come out.

Plus the fact that Sony shits on developers every chance they get.

They have a tremendous platform to work with, but they don't make it easy. Microsoft's console is made out of silly putty, but their developer relations is top-notch. And when it comes to 3rd-party development and the longevity of a console - the path of least resistance is always the way it goes. PS3 just doesn't have the numbers this generation to merit the effort.

They are both good. Only reason I'd get a PS3 though is because it has some good PSN only exclusives and still has a few exclusive retail games I want to play.

Other than that I prefer 360 for online gaming and honestly I think Blu-Ray is overrated even though I have one. I know many will argue that last point. Yes it does look better but for me, my upscaled DVDs on my Pioneer look awesome without the extra cost.

I'm enough of a gamer though that I need both.

Don't forget that 360s are, generally, much less reliable than PS3s. Also, PS3 comes with a nice big HDD, rechargeable controllers, WiFi, and a very good (IMO) online service that is free. With the 360, HDD costs drive it up quite a bit. If you want rechargeable controllers and WiFi, that's even more money added on...PLUS the cost of Live, ($40-50 a year). I think the "less expensive" argument is pretty silly, UNLESS you want the bare minimum. I'm only talking about making the consoles as equal as possible in terms of functionality, "completeness", accessories, etc. Plus, if you want that Blu-Ray player down the road, that's just more money spend anyway.

HOWEVER...it REALLY comes down to which console exclusive games interest you more. What about friends? Are you interested in playing online with them? If so, which console do most of them own? Games and friends. That's the main reason you should pick either one of the consoles. Neither is a bad choice at all.

To be fair, if we were comparing the number of PS2, PS3, and 360 games I have, the PS2 would come out on top by a fair bit. Yet another reason to mourn the death of the PS3 60gb.

IMHO : the pricepoint is whats killing the PS3. if it was alittle cheaper maybe 300 or 329.99, it might fair better , i may be late in saying this. but the lowest 360 is 199.99. cheaper if you can find a deal. the cheapest PS3 i think is 299.99(i dont think so anymore) but we'll use that pricepoint. thats $100 more. to the average retailer who doesnt factor in small things like XBOX live, or wireless internet or anything else. the price value is moot.

I am on neither side. i own all the current gen consoles. however like the other sides, buy what your friends play. I buy more ps3, because thats what my friends play(or work friends)

I do however read about the 360 reaching its DVD-9 Limitations (whats the truth in that)capacity limits

Get the 360 unless you need (or really want) a BD player. 360 has much better games, a better controller, and is cheaper.

There are always deals, clearances and refurbs (Dell has new PS3s on sale for $380 right now, Buy.com appears to have 299 refurbs), but the current retail price is $399.99. There has yet to be a PS3 with a MSRP less than $399.99 AFAIK.

In any case, there are currently no new PS3s for $299.

I have a 360, my friend has a PS3. Both of us have had our consoles die once (mine was replaced with a brand new console by MS). Overall the failure rate for the 360 may be higher but as long as you give it room to vent you should be fine.

I actually sold him my "old" (replacement) 360 after I bought a Jasper Arcade unit and he hasn't touched his PS3 in months.

PSN may be good but from pretty much everyone I've talked to who has both a 360 and PS3 Xbox Live is the clear winner. I paid $34 for my 13 month service. Yes, the PS3 has rechargable controllers but you've got to have the PS3 turned on to recharge them, I prefer AA's.

I will agree, the price MS charges for the WiFi connection is ridiculous, mine's hard wired in though.

In the end base your decision on what games you want to play and on whether or not you want BRD.

People keep talking games as if it's the most important factor. In these days, when the concole sits at the center of your living room and is supposed to do everything except literally give you a blowjob (the streaming porn is a close replacement), it's hard to focus on just one feature. The PS3 does all that. It even cures cancer.

Oh, and it's also reliable.

I don't have a PS3, but what can it do media-wise that a 360 can't either natively or via that TVersity software or whatever?
I'd be more than willing to make shelf space for a PS3 and MLB 09 if it did something with my media that my 360 couldn't.
