The use of jarring music during the interrogation of suspected terrorists has been reported in many works documenting the authorization of torture during the Bush administration. At least 20 declassified documents currently exist that reference the use of "loud" music to "create futility" in uncooperative detainees. Among the artists whose music is believed to have been used include Metallica, Britney Spears, the Drowning Pool, Eminem, Bruce Springsteen and the Bee Gees.

I hate to Admit it but Harvey was right. Britney? Eminem? Bruce? The Bee Gees? Bush is clearly one sick bastard for making these poor terrorists listen to that garbage. I suspect they were begging to be waterboarded after listening to that crap. I wouldn't wish this music on ANY of you.. Its a sad day for our country.

If that is true then Harvey should be thrown in jail for torturing us with that song of his.

Who's Watching Over Who's Watching Over You?

Words and Music by Harvey Rubens
Copyright © 2006

Verse 1:

I see men looking over their shoulder,
Running hard just trying to stay alive,
And they say that it's gonna get colder before it gets better.

At the time of the crime, who believed us?
We all took a fall on the ride,
When the powers that be had deceived us to leave us the debtor.

Chorus:

And who's watching over who's watching over you?
Tell me who's telling who's telling you what to do what to do?

Verse 2:

All the forces of war were compelling,
And blacker than Colin, the Knight,
And the lies they were telling, they sell in the name of their savior.

And they silence the voices arising,
From those who would show us the light,
With their guys with their spies in the skies watching you and your neighbor.

Chorus:

Verse 3:

I see men who are trying to squeeze us,
And taking whatever they can,
While they buy those who try to appease us with scraps from their table.

It gets harder each day to break even.
This wasn't a part of my plan.
Time is right to be fighting or leaving this tower of Babel.

Chorus:

While you're at it, here's another of my tunes just for the right wingnuts:

Can I Do It Til I need Glasses?

Words and Music by Harvey Rubens and Bob Vernoff - Movie poster :D
Copyright © 1995

Verse 1:

Mama said she was alarmed,
When she caught me in the barn.
Now, you know she didn't come up from behind.

She said (Mama's voice) "That ain't the way I taught ya.
It's a good thing that I caught ya.
Don't you know, if you don't stop it, you'll go blind?

Chorus:

Can I do it 'til I need glasses?
Can I stroke my spoke, can I fiddle my twiddly-dee?
I want to do it 'til the girls start making passes,
'Til I need glasses, just let me be.

Bridge:

When I'm feeling low,
(Chorus) Where do you go?
Oooh, X-rated show.
(Chorus) Wouldn't you know!
Oooh, Down in the front row, here I go.
(Chorus) You'll be blind by the time you count to
(with heavy breathing) 1, 2, 3 .....

Chorus:

Can I do it...

Verse 2:

Papa told me man to man,
(Papa) "You'll grow hair upon your hands.
If you don't stop, you know you'll lose your mind."
Now, maybe there's something to it,
But it feels so good to do it that when they say,
(Chorus) "If you don't stop it, you'll go blind." I say,

Chorus:

Can I do it...

Yes, let's marginalize the widespread institutional approval by the Bush admin of torture by US forces which resulted in dozens of deaths of detainees in Iraq and Afghanistan, some of whom were completely innocent bystanders swept up by US forces. Man, that's hysterical stuff.

You chest-pounding patriotic pro-torture righties are so gosh darn american.

Pretty much.

After all, scrotum slashing is actually therapeutic.

So can I sue a city for torture if/when I have to drive through its ghetto and there are people blasting loud music from their cars?

Ah, didnt take long for someone to imply its ok to strap a bomb to yourself and blow up dozens of innocents, but by God dont try to torture prisoners jailed as suspected terrorists for the purpose of stopping terroristic acts.

Have you built any bombs today?

That's what the US government should say from now on about war crimes and human rights abuses in foreign countries.

Ahh, it didn't take long for a chickenshit coward like yourself to step up to defend torture.

Torture: Infliction of severe physical pain as a means of punishment or coercion.
(thank you dictionary)

Can someone show me PROOF that BOOOSH authorized the "torture" of anyone?

It was his lawyers who circumvented the constitutional laws for Bush/Cheney which gave them the green light for torture ;)

You know, my parents always told me that if you wanted to see the real personality of someone, you shouldn't watch how they treat their equals, but how they treat the people under them socially.

I think that measure can be applied to the government too. I'm willing to accept a few bomb attacks on this country if it means we can stand up and be a shining example of human rights.

It's a very slippery slope when you start treating people poorly when they are totally under your control, whatever your rationalization. Yes, so you cut off one guy's nuts and he nets you three bombers. Now what happens when the you cut off the next guy's nuts and he really doesn't know anything? Chalk it up as acceptable losses and move on?

Edit: I'd also like to add that if you manage to figure what person or organization bombed you, I fully support total annihiliation of them as retribution.

So you favor dead Americans over uncomfortable terror suspects? Interesting, disgusting, but interesting.

So you favor torturing men who potentially have nothing to offer you over any type of due process, assuming guilt before innocence? Interesting, disgusting, but interesting.

Don't play idiotic games with me. There are two sides to this coin, and if you can't see both you should probably excuse yourself from the discussion.
