I didn't listen to the SuperBowl halftime performance but I figure its hella cold and raining and the foo is probably wearing high heels...

you try sounding good in those conditions.

And it's quite sad how little appreciation most people have for good music here. Apparently they'd rather be listening to Britney Spears, Nelly, or some other god awful pop act.
Ask and ye shall receive...yeesh:

They need to have someone more mainstream and more of today's music. I personally don't like Prince's music, but irregardless they need to get a big name group today. Breaking Benjamin, Nickelback, 3 Doors Down come to mind off hand, I am sure there are others. Carrie Underwood has a phenomenal voice, but her music (Being Christian 🙂 ) doesn't appeal to many and may be seen as alienating some.

The one with justin and janet was good.

On the contrary, it led to a tighter stranglehold of content on live TV being filtered so the children will never have to see something as reprehensible as a breast ever again.

When I was little, my mother used to stick her breasts in my mouth.

Wow I thought I would find a much different reaction here. I thought it was one of the best half time shows in the last 5 years or so.

I thought the exact same thing.

Edit: and I'm not generally a fan of Prince.

Unlike most of the people in this thread - I enjoyed this performance more than halftime show in the last few years.
ur ghey

wtf ...

Isn't the policy that a comment like that sends you to the ban box for a bit?

You're obviously missing the sarcasm in that string of posts, as mosh is not a moronic 12 year old and sure doesn't talk like one.

I thought Mosh was drunk-posting

42" 1080p and enjoyed it. Of course, I was a teenager when Purple Rain came out, so some nostalgiac bias.

That guitar sounded really good considering it was raining. I thought the water would screw everything up.

His guitar went out towards the end of purple rain. Heard a muddled pop noise and his amp cut off. Probably had somethin to do with the rain.

prince fscking rocked. i'm sorry that no one today apparently appreciates decent music. my god that was an awesome half-time show.
Prince is a great musician. I would have been surprised if he didn't kick ass.

Best Super Bowl Halftime show was U2. Emotional naturally but they really did an excellent job and sound good as usual.

Same here. I'm not a big football fan, or music fan, and certainly not a Prince fan, but i thought it was a great show.

I didn't think he was half bad---you try giving your best performance when it's pouring rain. I amazed he didn't get zapped from all that water.

Purple Rain really fit in there though, didn't it 🙂

is he really playing? that might be the only good part.

It did not look like it. He would rip into a rif and his hands were not on the strings.

He was playing. He plays using simple boxes and hybrid picking, so your fingers don't have to move very much. He likes those bends too!

There was one a few years ago that had Gwen Stefani and Sting singing some Police tunes. That was the last decent one IMO...although, they also had Shania Twain lip synching to one of her hits and it was painfully obvious that she wasn't singing it. Sting is a class act though and would never do that during a performance.

Personally, I didn't think Prince was that bad. He looked like a freak with that scarf in his hair but otherwise it wasn't bad...

same here. got to give Prince credit man, he turned out that show and in the freaking pouring rain too!! most artits/groups today wouldnt even dare come out if there's a single rain drop lol

Prince rocked the Super Bowl. He's an amazingly talented musician and performer, and while I wouldn't typically equate him to something like the Super Bowl, he definitely put on the best show in recent years. Most of ATOT posts from their parent's basement between WoW raids anyway, so ignoring most of the negative sentiment isn't too hard. 😉

..I kid, I kid...
