If you plan to leave your computers running and crunching when you are gone you could always just get a rolling start on the challenge. Just make sure you don't have any tasks waiting to run. So when you start downloading news ones after the start they'll count.

It ends the day I come home.

Besides, I only have 4 computers running, my last electric was $1150. Also, as to NOT burn down the house when I am 3500 miles away.

Yes I'm aware. You can still do everything I said.

CNT is beating us. We need all hands on deck! ASAP

They're kicking our butts hard.

sorry, I am in Florida across the country from my boxes. I did not want to have them all running when I was gone close to blowing circuit breakers.

On computers which are configured for throughput, not for speed, these tasks take a few hours. Hence, several hours after the start — not minutes ;-) — was the right time to check the stats and worry... or not.

Currently, 7AA7 is matched by AC + SG + Australia combined, and beaten by CNT + Ukraine + ATP + AMD Users combined. :-)

Thanks for the updates.
Having constant connection issues suddenly. So I am dropping like a rock 🪨.
Just got a new modem going. We shall see if it cures the problem. Speeds are better. Have a new router waiting in the wings if needed. I will probably use it even if I don't really have too.

Workunits had 480K FFT length at the start of the challenge. (FMA3, it was 480K or sometimes less with AVX-512.)

Only recently it crept up to 512K FMA3 and 504K AVX-512. However, that's still a size at which computer settings¹ which were good at the start of the challenge should still be good now and likely for the rest of the challenge.

¹) Notably, how many tasks to run simultaneously on a given CPU.

480K coefficients × 8 Bytes/coefficient (it's FP64 math) = 3.75 MBytes worth of coefficients of the transform
512K × 8 Bytes = 4.0 MBytes
