'Pregnant Man' Gives Birth to Girl

Thomas Beatie, the transgender man who made headlines as the so-called "pregnant man," gave birth Sunday to a healthy baby girl, ABC News has learned.

Transgender male Thomas Beatie has delivered a healthy baby girl. Beatie became pregnant through artificial insemination.

"She's really cute, really pretty,'' the source told ABC News Thursday afternoon.

The source the family was resting and focusing their attention on the new baby.

Born a woman, Beatie, 34, who had his breasts surgically removed and legally changed his gender from female to male, leaped to prominence around the world in April when the wispy bearded man revealed he was pregnant.

Despite years of taking hormones and living outwardly as a man, Beatie maintained that he retained his female sex organs because he intended one day to get pregnant.

"I actually opted not to do anything to my reproductive organs because I wanted to have a child one day. I see pregnancy as a process and it doesn't define who I am," Beatie told Oprah Winfrey in April.

"I feel it's not a male or female desire to have a child. It's a human need. I'm a person and I have the right to have a biological child," he said.


Beatie was caught on tape leaving the hospital. He was not carrying the infant.

A woman who appears to be a nurse carried a combination car seat/baby carrier with a white blanket over it. Beatie walked a few yards behind her. The new dad walked easily, although he appeared tired, and despite the warm weather he wore a white hooded sweatshirt along with sunglasses and black shorts. Someone opened the car door for him.

Beatie was impregnated with sperm from a donor. His wife, Nancy, inseminated him at home with a device she said was like a syringe without the needle. They bought it from a veterinarian and it is typically used to feed birds.

Wow... I thought the story was fairly normal, for what it was, until that part. So they found a "donor", loaded his spunk into a syringe and went to town?

I guess that's more or less the way it would be done professionally, but still.. lol.
 
I like how it costs upwards of $30K in fees for a married couple to adopt an unwanted baby, along with tons of personality assessments and background checks but everyone else just needs a turkey baster full of bum cum.

His reasoning is idiotic, this was nothing more than a political statement to push the envelope. If (s)he really wanted to be a guy, (s)he'd inseminate (her)his wife.
 
I'm sorry, but I think this gender stuff is weird as hell. "It's her right," sure; but people act like they were "born in the wrong body" and oppressed. WTF?!

You'd think if nature gave you a penis, she wanted you to be a man; and if she gave you a vagina, she wanted you to be a woman.

No, if this 'man' wants to be a man then 'he' needs to take being male as what it is. There's no picking and choosing what traits you want and what you don't. I have the same problem with many so called feminists who decide that they want to be treated like men but then get angry if we don't treat them like a lady. Chose one or the other, you can't have it all.
