"Total exonerating" could be for various reasons. The facts remain that AG Barr and Mueller has stated under oath that the President was not charged because of lack of evidence and not because of DOJ guidelines. You can't put out unsubstantiated claims about crimes without the proper evidence. Isn't that against some DOJ rules or guidelines?

This is obviously, provably false. Mueller has never stated Trump was not charged because of a lack of evidence. If anything, he has strongly indicated there was sufficient evidence for charges.

You're just putting forth a blizzard of lies.

Wonder if this investigation will either hurt or help the Dems.

Hard to see how Mueller saying Trump did a whole bunch of criminal shit like ordering people to falsify documents to obstruct a criminal investigation would hurt the Democrats.

I think his original explanation for that was that they already had all the answers they needed and/or didn't expect any new information from such an interview. As such it wouldn't have been worth the legal battle and delay to try to get him to answer in person.

I believe it was because they wouldn't have been able to end the probe in the most optimal time for the GOP (i.e. shortly after midterms). Why would a Republican want a Republican administration going into 2020 fighting an interview that he would undoubtedly lie in more than a hundred times?

MUELLER - “Now before we go to questions, I want to go back to one thing that was said this morning by Mr. Lieu, who said, and I quote, ‘You didn’t charge the president because of the OLC opinion.’ That is not the correct way to say it. As we say in the report, and as I said at the opening, we did not reach a determination as to whether the president committed a crime. With that, Mr. Chairman, I’m ready to answer questions.”
To me that's him saying he wasn't permitted to make a determination or that wasn't his job. He's made it quite clear that he was only going to present the facts and that's what he did. It's up to others to make that determination.

And that's fucking stupid because Barr said he could and should have. Not to mention, the arbiters who made the decision are both corrupt and deserve prison.

I just have a terrible feeling in my stomach that all that comes out of this is "Tired old man that spent two years on witch hunt can't remember facts and needs everything repeated twice".

That's going to be the right ring vacuum takeaway and spin.
I share your concern. I think there was a point during the House testimony where Mueller basically said that they had already determined they weren't going to make any charging decisions against POTUS on Day 1 of the investigation. Let that sink in. They already decided that, whatever the evidence, charging decisions or declinations would not be included in the report.

If that was the case, I'd agree with any Republican that this whole OSC investigation was a complete and utter waste of time. Furthermore, the Democratic House--now roughly 15 months away from an election--better get started with impeachment inquiries now because, as I see it, the Mueller Report will not persuade swing voters that voted for Trump in '16 to abandon him in '20.

Mueller has not stated that Trump wasn't prosecuted for obstruction because of lack of evidence. Even you know that. Stop lying.

Barr lies. It's convenient after the fact blame shifting.

Mueller stated that DOJ rules/policy was not the reason for the lack of charges/indictment. What else would prevent Mueller from getting an indictment?

It has always been a guideline that could have even been challenged by Mueller himself. Barr just took advantage of the flexibility. Sort of like Comey's deal. Barr presented Mueller the opportunity to smoothly change course to get the ball rolling for the Democrats, but he refuses, which I find baffling considering the potential consequences. Now we have to hope the Democrats don't lose support for acting meekly or that something surfaces with counterintelligence or something else.

This is false, Mueller said because of the OLC opinion he did not even consider the question of whether or not to charge Trump. The amount of evidence never even factored into it. Why do you continue to lie about these things?

Also, what are your thoughts on Mueller's statement that Trump ordered his staff to falsify documents?

Whether that is true or not, it doesn't change Trump's full quote of the famous "I'm f'ed" quote. The Dems cherry pick the quote to make it seem like he said "I'm f'ed" because he was doing something illegal and not because SC investigations essentially "freezes" a President for the duration.
There's a reason why he is being investigated, and it's not because of some grand conspiracy of hate against him...it's because he is a shady person with shady dealings, and possibly a criminal.

Lots of people hated Obama but where were the investigations against him? Oh right, he wasn't a shady person and there was nothing to investigate, certainly nothing criminal.

First paragraph in your link-

We won't know the effect for days or weeks. Just because you remain unswayed doesn't mean that other people won't be. Your judgements are also premature, given that Mueller is still testifying, or was just a short time ago.

I suggest you reread what I originally wrote because you are all over the place. I stated my opinion of how the first testimony went in relation to the Democrats stated goal of the testimony.

Brilliant analysis right there.

Your witch hunt is coming to an end. If you want a Democrat in office you'll have to actually win the election against Trump. Trying to use impeachment as a tool because you didn't get your way, disgusting.

My witch hunt? My name is not Rosenstein, and I did not appoint a Special Counsel. Why is it disgusting? Impeachment is a political process, not a criminal one. There is no presumption of innocence until proven guilty, nothing about a preponderance of the evidence. Nothing disgusting about it. House is free to do what they want, and Mitch and the Senate are free to tell them "go fuck yourselves". That's just how the system works--if you hate it and would prefer a dictator/king who doesn't have to deal with checks and balances, you can leave.
