500hp? That I'll buy (because we just don't know). It's easy to crank up a turbo that's for sure.

But, how many runs down the strip until it breaks?

Just like modded WRXs, the drivetrain can't handle the extra oomph for long.

Yeah, and I don't like the carbon fiber hood either. I mean why not paint it? To show off that he has carbon fiber that's why. F1 cars are made out of carbon fiber - they paint those, they just show off their speed.

cranking up a turbo to 500hp isn't that easy...its takes the proper parts and tuning and approach to 500whp. Most important is fuel delivery especially for a turbo car.

Yeah, but still possible.

It's a heck of a lot easier today than it was back in my day (muscle car era). Back then you were dropping a big block in.

Today you either crank up the wastegate, or install a bigger turbo (and crank up the wastegate) - that of course with the appropriate fuel injection and computer mods as you mentioned.

Black/grey wheels on white car = yuck. Different color body panels = yuck. Though I've driven an Evo 8, I don't know everything about them, why can't they make the hood vents functional instead of needing the scoup in the grill that this has. What HP is the stock IC good for? Nice brakes. What kind are they?

BTW, IMO the 350Z is a hella more fun to drive than the EVO.

Well, that car isn't much different than stock looks wise. The CF wing and hood but otherwise it isn't much different than stock. Personally, I like my pocket rockets a little more understated though. :D

I haven't driven the 350Z. I haven't driven the Evo either but I've driven the G35 coupe and the WRX STi. Two completely different cars with completely different purposes. If you want luxury and good looks the G35 would be the car for you. If you want boy racer looks and faster than a scalded cat performance then the Evo or STi is the car for you.

I'm not sure who makes the brakes on the Evo but the STi has Brembo brakes and they are excellent.

BTW-The STi and Evo will spank a 350Z in every performance category.

The bigger front lip/spoiler/opening is good for 4 things:

1. Front mount intercooler. Top mounted intercoolers are far less efficient; they get heat soaked much quicker. If you take a look at the wind tunnel results for most cars, you'll see that the air hits the front of the car, goes up over the leading edge of the hood, then hits near the mid to top of the windshield. This means, the hood is actually a void for most vehicles.

2. More room for radiator.

3. Provides for ducting to front brakes (if applicable)

4. provides for front downforce.

Hood vents seriously suck compared to a good front scoop.

Of course, if you're talking about the air intake on the right side of the mitsubishi symbol, it's much the same reason as the FMIC. You get forced air in the front nose, you get next to nothing on top of the hood.

The brakes are made by Rotora. The Evo also comes with Brembos stock but this guy obviously has money to burn, the brake setup retails for over $6,000.

Except the Woman Gettin category. And the Slickone Fun Factor category. 350Z looks 10x better to me too. As many say, WRX looks like a toy. Evo looks kinda cheap (it is a 'Lancer'). To each his own.
I wouldn't say 'spank' on the perf. categories anyway. Got specs? What about top speed?

Yeah, I was talking about that small air intake.

The wheels are fvckin' awesome. Too bad they only come 5-lug:( Oh well. The hood does kinda stick out and I don't like the front bumper. The stock one looks great if it didn't have that triangle bit in the grille w/ the mitsu logo. I think hands down the Evo is the wildest car I've driven, bar none. It kinda saddens me my next car wouldn't be as wild but oh well.....:D

Better looking Evo

EDIT: To the OP: What's so special about your CRX that you have it worked on at this kind of shop?

the car looks clean, i personally like the contrast onthe hood and i lik ehow he followed thru and got a cf trunk lid to go with it, the jdm tails are also a nice touch. many ppl like things bing all 1 color and having it more of a sleeper, but then again, its an evo, and with that huge apex'i fmic its not much of a sleeper anymore. as for the exhaust, its not a fartcan, turbo'd cars don't like back pressure, so having it as freeflowing (big) as possible is a good thing. it shouldn't be too loud either, the turbo silences the exhaust a bit. I would definately love to see what's under the hood, i have tons of respect for show cars but cars with show and go definately take the cake.

one hell of a rice machine... despite whatever speed it may have, i find the black rims to be quite hideous (as well as the high spoiler).

WRX STi
0-60: 4.9 seconds
¼ mile: 13.3 sec @ 103.0 mph
60-0 braking: 111 ft
Lateral Acc: .88g

350Z
0-60: 5.6 seconds
¼ mile: 14.3 sec @ 100.4 mph
60-0 braking: 113 ft
Lateral Acc: .87g

I'm not into the "woman gettin" factor. I'm happily married. Don't need to get women. I've got one! :D

I don't know about top speed of the 350Z. The WRX-STi is speed limited to 147mph and it will go that fast.

Holy smoke, that's an awesome quarter mile time. It's really amazing how fast cars have gotten in the last few years.
