Holy smoke, that's an awesome quarter mile time. It's really amazing how fast cars have gotten in the last few years.

No kidding! That's stock too! The Evo posts a slightly faster 0-60 time but the STi is a bit faster or about the same in the 1/4.

The article I read in Road & Track comparing the Evo and STi said the Evo broke the record in 60-0 braking by besting the Ferrari 360 Modena, the previous record holder in this category at 110 ft.

I'm 37 years old so I grew up lusting after cars like the Lamborghini Countach and the Porsche 928 along with the American muscle cars from the late 60s. As far as I'm concernced this is a golden age for performance car enthusiasts!

This certainly is. Never have more well rounded performance vehicles been so readly available for so little. There certainly have been times where straight line speed may have been slightly more impressive, but the overall performance envelope for the price has never been higher.

 

i'd still take an STI over that car

it's not like it really matters. they won't honor the warranty anyways.
