Go for it! You know you've got $2 burning a hole in your pocket.

Bought 2 tickets Wednesday and did not get even one number correct. 🙁

Will try again for this Wednesday drawing.

Yes, I know it's more likely I'll be struck by lightning multiple times. It's still fun to throw a few bucks down when it gets this large.

I've read cash option minus taxes leaves about 1/3, so I'm going with $133,000,000.00.

33 people will be getting a million dollar check (or however they want it). This will be friends and people that have been a positive effect on the lives of my children.
The rest will be spent traveling around the world building schools and hospitals where needed.

Or, I could spend the whole $133MM and sign Johnny Cueto for six years.

$244.8 Million Cash Value on the $400 million prize. Nets around $150,000,000 after federal tax. I could live on that.

The odds of scoring a hot date with Jessica Alba is higher than hitting Powerball jackpot so I'm gonna go with Jessica instead.

Purchased 1 ticket over the weekend and not a single winning number was on it.

Try again after work today. Some of us do have to pay state income tax on lottery winnings and not just federal.

That pays for the hookers and blow at least. You might need to pick up a paper route to help cover non-essentials like food and rent.

I'll do like I always do, buy one single ticket, spend a couple of days looking at real estate in Monaco and the Hamptons, spec out a new Ferrari or two, then get zero numbers correct and go back to real life.

About always spend a couple bucks on the regular lotto every wednesday and saturday.

I actually had a former girlfriend hit a big Powerball once.

Of course if she wasn't a former girlfriend I guess she probably we would have done something different and she would have never hit it.

Life is funny and random in general a lot of the time.

odds of winning are 1 in 292 million. ticket is $2. so, under my rule of not playing until the ticket price and annuity (pretax) values are the same, i'm not playing until it reaches $584 million. a couple years ago they moved the ticket price to $2 in order to drive up that jackpot number, but moved the odds to 1 in 175 million from 1:195 million. last july they decided to worsen the jackpot odds (while improving odds on lesser prizes, for example winning $4 went from 1:111 to 1:92).

jackpot odds are now roughly the same between megamillions and powerball. if you're going to play, if the mega jackpot is greater than half of the powerball jackpot you're better off playing mega.

I always look at the powerball digit first, see that it doesn't match up with anything on my ticket, then let out a sigh as if checking the rest of the numbers is a huge chore. I assume I'm not alone on that.

ok so where is the atot group buy when you need it?

Someone hosed it up via paypal. +1 for Vivi and the peeps entering #s.

So we're double hosed, right?

1) IIRC we can't here.
2) Problem with funding (Paypal).

Assuming we won $133 mill after taxes/taxes/taxes/taxes divided by 100 AT'ers = $13.3 mill each I suppose I can survive on that.

If we could do a group buy, I'll skip my daily latte for a week ~ $20.

How about Venmo?

The real problem would be 100 of us signing the back of the ticket.

So would you opt for the lump sum or annuity?

lump for sure then hopefully seek professional ATOT advice regarding how to invest, etc.

Can you imagine if Trident won the big one and posted a thread on ATOT? I would have to call in sick for 2-3 weeks to bask in the epicness.
