What chipset fan are the show Motherboards coming with ?

A couple of posters said orginial/first design. Does this seem to be holding true ?

Think it's a worthwile upgrade from a x754 3200+ with NF3 mobo??

My only concern is that i'm currently running a x800XT, and with the sale of the old stuff, I wouldn't have enough to get a PCIE x800xt. So i'd prolly have to "settle" for a x800xl.

I doubt the system would be noticably faster than your current sytem in most applications. And if your a gamer going from your XT to XL, I think you would be spending hundreds on a downgrade.

That's what I figured!

Meh. Colincsl, your sig says you've already got this:
on order:
AMD 64 X2 4400 - DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra - Geforce 6600GT - 2x1GB ram (generic Patriot) - Maxtor 200GB 8MB cache - Silverstone SST case - Antec True430
^--- Better than the stuff at the techtour.

AMD Tech Tour pics

thanks for the pics wizz. It's about time someone posted some pics of the tour. One of your pics shows the A8N asus mobo and it seems to me that it's using the older NB fan rather then the newer one. Are all the A8N boards there like that?

And how was the tour overall? I heard some complaints on fatwallet that there's a lot of hype and that a lot of the presentations was long and boring. Was any of that true for you? Did it feel like it was worth your time?

Thanks

FYI, I attended the Atlanta show with two friends. Two of us got the newer SB HSF, while the third guy got the earlier HSF. Looks like it's a mixed bag.

It'll eventually get to the point where most (if not all) will be R2.0, because ASUS stopped making 1.0's. Bostonians have a month 😉.
