I thoroughly enjoy metallica and rammstein, i started with metallica first, just got into rammstein.
I like the song, Master of Puppets, I just find it repetitive and annoying, everyone seems to think its the best song in the world by them and I have to disagree.

and you listen to Rammstein too, I used to do that before I started listening to Metallica. Now i hate Rammstein.

I thoroughly enjoy metallica and rammstein, i started with metallica first, just got into rammstein.
I like the song, Master of Puppets, I just find it repetitive and annoying, everyone seems to think its the best song in the world by them and I have to disagree.

It has so many good riffs and two killer solo´s. But everyone has their own opinion.

Try After Forever or Within Temptation to see whether you like Gothic Metal in general.

Also try Hollenthon, My Dying Bride, Tristania, Opeth (if you don't mind grunts), Nightwish, Anathema, Darkseed, Haggard, The Sins Of Thy Beloved, Tiamat, Trail of Tears, To Die For..., Samael, Rage, Rakoth, Lacuna Coil, Moonspell, Lacrimosa, Luca Turilli, Labyrinth, Mortiis, Nightfall, On Thorns I Lay, Orphanage or Paradise Lost (older work), to name a few I got here at work.

I can also name some other metal styles, depending on your taste.

Therion started out as a Death Metal band, but quite melodious, and switched to Gothic Metal pretty fast. Slayer is counted as Trash Metal, as it does not have the specific Death Metal grunt, nor the same overall speed. Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir are Black Metal, which is the most extreme considering lyrics. And if you take Marduk (also Black Metal) it's also probably the most extreme in music and misbehavior.

i'm not gonna list the stuff i like (kinda random/posted already) but i hadn't even heard of children of bodom until recently, but i heard "Follow the Reaper" i think it's called, killer killer solo at the end, quick one though. surprised a few of you have heard of them aswell

I do agree, and there is not many another band that could just pick it up and play it so well. I just don't think it sounds too great, it is put together brilliantly and a very skillful piece, though.

Umm, I don't think I really listen to Metal, but I looked at some of the bands listed and I will make up a list...

Rammstein - Freuer Freaieeife (Yea whatever I don't remember off the top of my head .. and they are industrial but others mentioned rammstein!)
Fear Factory - Ressurection
Anthrax - Belly of the Beast Live
In Flames - Clayman

Maybe I'll get some more songs that were listed if they are anything like the ones I listed.

Many others were considered, like Blind Guardian, Avantasia, Edguy, Rammstein, Opera IX and Opeth. So many different genres, its hard to cut it down to 5 amongst them all.

BLACK SABBATH - BLACK SABBATH is one of the darkest songs' ever, the original version

Type o Negative did a cover for the Nativity in Black CD but it wasnt close to the original thing

Just because they're one of the bands that got the scene started doesn't mean their songs were never surpassed. Not to mention that it's mostly a matter of taste anyway.

And for all those who like Rammstein: Try listening to Tanzwut.

I prefer The Flesh of Gods or Crazy Nights, that's some kickass stuff

And Thor is one of the few covers that IMO actually surpasses the original.

Interesting how nobody has listed any Metallica after the black album.

I love old Metallica. Old Maiden, Van Halen (more rock than metal), Ozzy&Sabbath, Queensryche, Megadeath, Anthrax, etc...

You get the idea. There hasn't been much recently that I actually like. Sepultura is ok, Pantera is good, some Slayer, Danzig, Rammstein, Fear Factory... All nice to listen to, little worth buying.

Is KNAC Live still playing recent stuff? Now that I've got broadband, I may need to check it out again. And yes, I miss them being a real radio station.
