If not mentioned before

TCPView

CPView is a Windows program that will show you detailed listings of all TCP and UDP endpoints on your system, including the remote address and state of TCP connections.

TCPView provides a conveniently presented subset of the Netstat program that ships with Windows NT and Windows 98.

You must have Winsock2.

not listed yet (at least i didn't notice it)
Gaim - AIM, ICQ, MSN, IRC, Jabber, Yahoo, Zephyr and a few more all in one nice package (way nicer user interface than trillian, IMO). (win/linux)

Incredible job on all the great programs!! One thing I didnt see on here was programs for password locks on files or programs on your pc. Does anyone know of something like that?

keypass stores your passwords and NTpasswd sorta resets 'em...but it will disallow you to access any of the encrypted files you had on your system previous to its useage. 🙁

Well, I had posted this in the "Commonly Warezed programs" But maybe this thread is more appropriate.

dvd::rip for Linux

Still a bit rough around the edges, but I got a movie ripped to disk, and then transcoded to a VCD on my Fedora Core 2 box with relatively little pain. Make sure you get all the dependencies installed to save yourself some frustration. There are required dependencies and optional dependencies. The ability to transcode to mpg for VCDs depends on an optional dependency and had me scratching my head for a bit.

Konfabulator Cool crossover program from the mac side. It can pretty much be whatever you want it to be if you have programming skills, but essentially, it creates an active desktop that does things like check your weather, check your e-mail, does to-do lists, has a cool little picture frame thing, and a couple hundred other things. It's neat, check it out.

I've used BartPE a few times and it's truely an awesome program. Like those bootable linux CDs but you can add in some familiar windows programs and run them when booted off the cd. I've repaired a few computers using this that otherwise would have been lost causes.

VirtualDub: Must have for any video editors
iTunes: Great music player, has AAC support off the bat, and I find it easier to use than Windows Media Played and WinAmp
Nero 6 Ultra Edition: Paid for this one, truly an excellent piece of software for all that comes with it
Mozilla Firefox: Best browser out there, period
Craxtion 4: Must have for anyone that does any tinkering whatsoever with XBOXs

slawdog smart shutdown (shuts down computer automatically at certain time, etc.)
mobo monitor
torrentstorm (bittorent)
ultraedit 32 (great text editor for programmers)
pinnacle studio 9 (video editing)
regcleaner (cleans registry)
dvd decryptor (unlocks security/encryption on dvd and rips onto harddrive)
dvd shink (shrinks double layer dvds to single layer and more....)
dvd-r identifier (identifies the manufacturer of the dvd+-rw, cd+-rw)
