GetRight is one of the best Download Manager / accelerator that i have ever used. With my Dial up connection i am Constantly hitting 5.2 - 7 Kb/s. while downloading it in muliple segments. With a Cable modem i got a hit of 100+ Kb/s for almost an hour. Great program Try it out.

didnt scroll through the whole thread, but here is ... snip.

Hey, people, there's no need to scroll through a thread to find things. Just click the icon at the top right to create a printable version of the thread and then search THAT. That way you avoid having to search each page of posts in the thread for an exhaustive search. IOW, Control+F (Find) in the printable version. This makes it a complete snap to find out if something has already been mentioned in a thread.

I increased my "How many topics do you want listed when you enter a category?" preference to the maximum of 100. This means the rest of the thread is loading while I'm still reading and I significantly reduce the amount of clicks required. Helpful if you're on a really slow connection or browsing a really long thread.

I've been waiting for someone to discover an unofficial Quicktime codec for WMP so we could get full-screen playback and browser integration without the original installed, but it doesn't look like that's gonna happen so I'll put forth this piece of crap program that I've had to deal with:

Fullscreen Movie Player

You need WMP and QT installed. I strongly urge everyone to assign WMP6.4 to all video codecs and only use WMP 7, 8 & 9 for jukebox stuff and the like. WMP6.4 can open multiple movie simultaneously, conforms to compact Windows standards and simple shortcuts (ALT + Enter was only FINALLY brought back in WMP9), can repeat endlessly and doesn't have pauses between repeats of most formats. To get rid of Quicktime's nagging (Thnx TheWart), set your date forward (I set mine to 2010), launch QT and dismiss the "Pro" upgrade question, close it, change the date back and it shouldn't bother you for years!

Now, does anyone know of an alternative to Realplayer? I know WMP used to play older RM and MOV files, but legally they can't do so with the newer versions...

Though I've had trouble getting the browser integration to work as it says it does, the alternative to RealPlayer was shortly provided by the same source (Though Kazaa-Lite K++ Edition's site has changed to www.kazaalite.de).

Excellent!
Now they have RealPlayer Alternative.

It will also make a seperate directory for these icons. Also, it checks all of your favorites for dead links and can update everything and even can update to the redirected site.

Totally awesome tool.

It took me forever to find FavOrg v1.4 (since now you need to pay to download off PC Mag) here are some free links I found off a German forums:
http://www.gratilog.net/anglais/internet/favorg.zip
http://digilander.libero.it/zenolabs/internet.htm

My personal contribution after rereading 18 pages worth . . .
Nero 6 - can now burn to DVDs
MS Activesync v3.7.1 - Update it if you have an iPaq (or maybe other WinCE devices)
PowerQuest PartitionMagic Pro
Powertoys for WinXP
StickIt - another desktop notepad thingy

RealVNC - It allows you to control your computer from any other computer in the world. Works on just about every OS out there and you can set it up so that you can control your computer over the web.

Launch Bar. Its for OSX, and is quite possibly the most usefull program I have installed. It works like auto-complete in IE, except for all the programs/files/bookmarks etc on your hdd.

I was looking for a free web album creator. found JAbum 3.1.
It works fine and looks very good. Is there any better one out there for free?
I have created couple of family albumbs, and I am very impressed!

Edit: Added the following.

WinMorph. WinMorph is for morphing. You can use the output in your home videos!!
and for creating PC based software training or demo Wink

I have used Wink to create a few flash based tutorials for my sister. Really cool!

I finally saw a link for QCDPlayer. I love that player! The only bad thing is it doesn't play .wma files automatically--you have to get a plug-in. But big deal, it's still sooooo much better than winamp. I also really enjoy the Coolbits program because it lets me overclock my video card!

I don't know the links but here is a small list of cool programs:
-BitTorrent - Download agent
-Google Toolbar - A cool toolbar for your IE
-MSN Plus - For MSN messenger users, you can set away messages and many hotkeys.

You find all of them by just searching google.com
