Animals don't exist solely for humans enjoyment, to be ripped asunder at our whim. While it's not the case around the world, here in America we don't eat dogs. We don't hunt dogs. We don't skin dogs for coats. In America dogs are "man's best friend." The whole notion of a dog is something that relies on you for food, shelter, time and affection. It's like a child, helpless without you. To take an animal that only exists for love and affection and subject it to torture and death is the most inhumane act of cruelty I can imagine.Originally posted by: IeraseU
Probably should be made to pay a stiff fine. No jail time should result, this is a dog not a human being. I know some people that love animals as much as humans, but at the end of the day humans eat animals, humans kill animals for sport, humans use animal fur and skin and products for various trade goods, humans make animals perform for them in circuses and other venues for entertainment, humans capture wild animals for the viewing pleasure of the general public. Basically you get the point, humans do not necessarily treat animals as they treat humans. Some people do.....some people form bonds with their pets to the point that they are like part of the family......but if you were to separate yourself impartially and examine the human race as a whole, you would see that humans basically consider animals expendable commodities.
I'm normally a fairly reasonable person. But this is one area where I get extreme. Someone who can not only condone these despicable acts of cruelty, but actually promote them as the natural order, is so far removed from any sense of civility as to be completely useless as a human being. In my mind, torturing an animal should carry the same sentence as torturing a baby. If you made toddlers fight to the death, you should be killed. Same thing with dogs. There is no hope for you.
A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.
