I still use winamp and have tried many alternatives. It's by far the best music player for windows. Oh and fuck Foobar

Winamp advertises on Leo LaPorte's TWiT podcast network and, I believe, his radio show. If it was not for that, I would not know that it still existed.

I haven't played a direct call to an MP3 is several years. $10 unlimited access to services like Rhapsody and Slacker combined with a smart phone and I have never needed to play/rip an MP3 track of my own.

Since so many people use iTunes to manage their iPods, iPhones, and iPads...I hope you don't remove it from their computers.

Of course, fewer people will use it now that iOS5 no longer requires iTunes.

So what do people use instead of Itunes to manage their Ipods? I´ve been looking for an alternative for a while and I haven´t found anything better.

iOS5 with iCloud.

You can now install updates over the air, perform backups over the air, download your tracks directly from iTunes, stream content from the cloud...etc.

If you want non-iTunes music on there with cloud integration, you'll have to pay for iTunes Match.

Don't see how you could possibly use iTunes match w/o iTunes

Yeah...I guess iTunes has to analyze/match your music from at least one computer, but there's no reason to connect your iDevice directly to that computer or even sync over LAN with that computer (technically syncing w/ iCloud).

I have about 100 gb of music, mostly Rips of my Cd´s (each CD is a folder on my Hard drive).

Is there any way to automatically turn each folder into a playlist in Itunes or any other software and have it sync my Ipod that way?

I know I can just drag the folder to the Playlist pane in Itunes but it would take me forever to do that manually.

Sorry for going off topic btw

I'm not sure how iTunes behaves. If you select all folders with Ctrl+A and drag into iTunes, does it make one playlist or many?

If that doesn't work, there's something else I would do... (typing steps)

...do those folders have some other playlist format inside? (M3U, WPL, etc)

They do not have any kind of playlist format inside

wow barely remember that one - used it all the time. For what, I can't remember.

WordPerfect and its deep blue background with white text was the bomb. I remember using it in our business class in highschool back in '92ish. Our teacher also said "one day E-Mail will be big".
