Popular software from the 80s/90s that eventually failed?

My boss asked me for a weird list of software that was wildly popular in the 80s and 90s only to fail due to a lack of innovation and modernization (or, let's face it, marketing).

So far my list is anemic - Wordperfect, lotus 123... The company/product can still be around but their market share tepid.

Ha, it's a list not a contest. I agree though, it's really a shame that WordPerfect crumbled the way it did - used it's everyday

Not only that, but it's still updated and used among quite a few companies. I had several clients at my last job that still purchased every iteration.

I've had it on corporate computers but I still don't know what it's for. Is it like Outlook? A pim of sorts? WHO KNOWS?

unfortunately it has been inextricably tied to iTunes, and tons of people have to use iTunes in order to access files on their iPods/iPhones.

as a standalone piece of software though, yes.
