This is freaking unbelieveable. It's a shame the ignorance of the prosecutor and jury has brought the weight of the legal system against this unsuspecting lady. I'm sure it will be overturned, but what a waste of time and money to say nothing about aggravation to this woman's life. Her defense attorney otta be arrested for impersonating a lawyer.

What I want to know is why sexuality is so heavily villafied in this country while hardcore violence is looked upon as acceptable. We need to get our priorities straight, in my opinion.

exactly! its ok to show Saving Private Ryan uncut with men getting killed in the most violent way but show Shindlers List uncut with full frontal nudity and complaints start flying.

It's beyond ridiculous that it went any further than a reprimand to the sub for allowing the students to have access to the computer. She should not have left the classroom without another adult left to monitor the students. Subs get paid squat and put up with an enormous amount of crap.

She didn't leave the room unattended, the class' actual teacher was in the room when she went to use the restroom. It was the full time teacher that left the kids unattended, which IMO is acceptable also. The district should have had a filter on the internet.

Now you can be tried as an adult for corrupting a minor.

1. the principal needs to be fired for failing to come forward with key evidence that could have aquited her
2. the prosecutor needs to be fired for a lack of morality.

jurisprudence my ass; his decision to go all out on this case is so scummy that I have no words to describe how absolutely ignorant and abominable it is:|

Why didnt she turn off the monitor or cover it up somehow?

Why didn't the school put filtering software to block those sites to begin with?
You can ask why or what all you want, she does not deserve to go to jail because some kids saw some naked pics. Period, end of story.

I never said she needs to go to jail for it, but why didn't she cover up the monitor? I think we can safely assume she didn't know how to turn the monitor off without turning the computer off (she was under strict orders to keep the computer on).

Obviously we can't answer that question, and hind sight is 20-20. But I think any competant adult would have attempted a less "high tech" solution to the problem.

While I don't disagree with the ridiculous prosecution of this woman, I do have to ask one simple question - why not just turn off the monitor? :p

man, anyone in positions of responsibility who helped convict this woman should have those responsibilities taken away, clearly idiots.

So you have acted perfectly logical and resonable, with clear laid out thought in every highly embarrasing situation you've ever been it?

She was told not to turn off the computer. Some people think that turning off the monitor turns off the computer too.
Seriously.

And computers scare some people. If she was told not to turn off the computer under any circumstance, she might have figured that if she tried to turn it off, it'd turn into a 20-foot unstoppable killing machine.

why isn't the full time teacher in trouble?

The holes in this case are a joke. I hope this lady decides to get someone other than a hobo off the street to represent her for her appeal, I'm thinking that must have been how she lost the first time around.

Odds are a couple kids in that class deliberately set it up to explode with porn popups, because it's a zoo when you have a sub. Get every little bastard out of that class up on the stand and break them down. PERRY MASON THEIR SORRY ASSES!
