Poor performance with new 4890?

Grow up, SolMiester. Schmide was right on the money with his troubleshooting suggestions. Unfortunately, I didn't report back after I tried them. They didn't work and if I'd have mentioned it, I'm sure Schmide would have come to the same conclusion I had. It was the PSU. Anyway, performance is great now, guys. Thanks for all the help!

Mate, you had about a dozen posters telling you it was the PSU against Schmide keep saying it wasnt, he even started arguing with the other guy over loading blah blah...., yet didnt say swat when it was proven the PSU was the issue...end of story.

Whether I was right or wrong in my first assumption is not an issue, that's how trouble shooting works. Most of the argument was about how much power a 4890 uses, not whether or not it was the exact cause of the problem. Comprehension dude, comprehension.

A little refresher, apparently SolMiester bought a X1950pro (probably used since it was a couple years after its release), and had trouble with it and seems to be holding this grudge for years. It was probably a bad card. If I stopped using a companies product after issues, there would be none left. (yes I've had nVidia driver and card troubles)

Every once and a while SolMiester will pop a divisive interjection. (here as well) It may even lead to name calling.

You need to get over being butt hurt and move on with it. Otherwise you'll just end up being a fanboi troll. End of story?

100% Agreed. Between Wreckage and Keys and the swarms of ATI fanboys, the Video forum is quite the interesting read.

Glad the power supply helped the issue out. I'm having...somewhat of a similar issue with a 4890. During DVD playback (and only during DVD playback) my computer will randomly restart. Fairly certain it's not my power supply, or even a hardware issue; perhaps a broken codec since I use the Klite Codec pack + WMP Classic; It's probably buggy junk.

And +1 for the Windows Performance Index being annihilated. Who's hair brained idea was it to institute that into Windows? I have nothing good to say about it.
