What's that?
i think its a GM

ford/lincoln/mercury/mazda/jaguar/aston martin/land rover/volvo/think is the full thing.

you don't have fiat on there, of course. they might be under GM. not sure how autonomous they are.

mercedes certainly should not be with land rover, since merc is chrysler and land rover is ford

you don't have renault, peugeot, subaru (WRX!!!), izusu (i think GM has a sizeable share of them), vauxhall (ford), saab (gm), opel (gm), and a bunch of other companies i'm leaving off (skoda comes to mind).

I don't know about that, Volvo is Swedish and Land Rover is Toyota.

go to ford.com chief.

check the lower right corner

Actually Volvo and Land Rover are owned by Ford.

Also just to correct El Fenix, Vauxhall is owned by GM and the cars are pretty much the same as Opel. The name Vauxhall is just for the UK and Opel is for everywhere else.

It's all the same company, but all the good ideas get the Ford name. I'm a Chevy guy myself, so I'll steer clear of that one. Actually my favorite or the old school MOPAR's, like late 60's early 70's Cudas, Roadrunners, and challengers. I drive Toyotas though, and they are the most practical for me, so that's what I voted for.

This information I already know. 🙂 I used to call myself a Chevy boy too until the day I realized that the only real Chevy that I like is the '68 Camero SuperSport 😀

nik

You can't leave out the Corvette...not to Mention the Chevelles, and even some Trans Ams. Good cars.

I added Mitsubishi, anything else? I don't want to conglamorate everything into Ford if it owns merely a percentage... Like a Volvo is too far a stretch from a Ford. (they're reliable after all) 😉

Let me know if I missed anything important, or if I need to merge any categories. Perhaps this will settle the debate once and for all! 😀

GM / Chevy / Pontiac / GMC / Saturn

should also have Buick, Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Hummer, and Saab. Volvo should be under Ford, and don't you think that Jeep should be with Chrysler. porche with audi and volkswagen is weird too.

yeah, porsche is a seperate company with a cross licensing agreement with audi, and hence, VW. porsche gets quattro, audi gets tiptronic. porsche is half owned by the porsche family. (sorta like BMW is half owned by the quandt family)

Wow, I'm learning a lot here. Good information, guys. Are Volvo's still made in Sweden, or are they made under Ford supervision now, or does Ford just own a portion? Same with GM and Saab? I'm curious. On another note, I know that Porche used VW engines in some of their cars, right? And Jeep and Eagle are the same, and I'm pretty sure Eagle/Mitsubishi are the same...

I'm a certified Toyota/Lexus ho, starting to become a Honda/Acura slut and will one day be a bonified VW/Audi & Nissan/Infiniti lovin' fool.

When you said 'Toyota ho' I got this image of a Japanese Ludacris in my head and couldn't contain my laughter. My coworkers must think I have some kind of complex. (on second thought I probably do. Too much ATOT...)

porsche hasn't used a VW engine in years. eagle is a dead chrysler brand originally founded to sell renaults in the US. later renault was kicked out of the US market (for like the 3rd time) and so chrysler used it as just another corporate division. chrysler had a long time relationship with mitsu, and sold versions of the eclipse and 3000gt, as well as using mitsu engines. the sebring 2 door is still largely a mitsu project. and volvo cars is owned wholly by ford, still built in sweden and using completely different everything from every other ford. ford might be looking to sell it.

Interesting. I know that the 3000GT and the Dodge Stealth were basically the same car. As with the Mitsu Eclipse and Eagle Talon. What about Jeep? I will leave Volvo on its own spot on the poll on account of this. (they real do seem different than any Ford I've driven)

That poll is messed up! Why are VW, Audi and Porsche grouped together? Porsche has NOTHING to do with VW or Audi! OTOH, VW does own Lamborghini (well, Audi does, and VW owns Audi).

If you wanted to group the manufacturers according to who owns who, it would go something like this (the parent-company in the left):

VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda/Lamborghini/Bugatti
Renault/Nissan/Infiniti
Peugeot/Citroen
GM/Saab/Opel/Chevy/Pontiac/Etc.
Ford/Volvo/Jaguar/Aston Martin/Land Rover/etc.
Fiat/Ferrari/Maserati/Alfa Romeo/Lancia
Mercedes/Chrysler/etc.

Okay, I tried to modify the poll to best reflect all the new information. I apologize if this has accidentally shifted any votes. And I know they put VW engines in some of the old Porsche 944's and maybe 914's.

ROTFLMAO I wanted to purposely skew the results and it looks like I was successful.

Guess who is the only ATer who voted Hyundai/Kia?

😀

Poll adapted, no need to get your panties in a wad. Porsche HAS used VW engines in the PAST, that is what mislead me, as well as someone farther up in the thread who commented otherwise. I didn't see Lamb. and VW because one is German and the other is Italian, they didn't seem together. I hope everyone is happy now!! 😀

gm owns all and they have so many divisions!!!!

right now im 16 yo and i drive a 1999 Tahoe loaded

the worst mistake gm ever made was getting rid of the camaro, but the new pontiac GTO may rule all worlds!!!

BTW you forgot MacLaren, Aston Martin, Bugatti(But i think there a division of VW)
