but that'll just make girl #2 want you even more. Look, Jane has no claims to you whatsoever, and it'd be ridiculous for her to make any now. Tell her if you feel like you're good enough of friends (i.e. you'd tell other friends within her same friendship stratum) but don't if she's not. There's no need to get all worked up about Jane. If she gets upset over this, then it's clear that the whole 'friends' thing was a sham anyway because she still wants you.

BTW ladder theory, the solution to all YAGTs... although strangely not applicable to this one, it seems. Are you gay? Why don't you like Jane? You said she's not ugly. What's up with that?

Well, obviously not gay. I don't like Jane because she's 'on of the guys.' I met her through two of my close (male) friends so, before she started stalking me in the halls, I would always walk to classes with her and the other two guys - I didn't really know her for awhile though. But once I got to know her I just saw her as a friend since she was always around me and my two other friends.

Anyway, I'm pretty excited to be going out with the other girl this weekend.

She wrote her phone number on my hand today. Then later tonight gave me her cell phone number (she doesn't have it memorized, got it recently). So we're going out tomorrow night - should be a good time.

We've been talking a LOT lately - very cool.

UPDATE2: Ahhh, life is good. We went out twice last weekend. Things went great - we can and do talk endlessly. Also, we've become very obvious with each other that we are interested in one another as more than friends. I'm thinking I might bring that up this weekend. Heh - speaking of this weekend, I should talk to her tomorrow and figure out exactly what we are doing. Oh yes, and she asked about 'Jane' - that she's been meaning to ask if 'Jane' and I were anything. I think I handled it well, I said something like:

No, we're not - i don't know where people got that idea. Well, I do, because we are seen in the halls a few times a day, but we're just friends.

And she said, 'good, I just wanted to be sure. I don't like the whole backstabbing thing - I've been on both ends and it's not fun.'

'Jane' and I have kinda simmered our friendship a bit, which is fine by me, it was getting to be a bit much...it kinda weirded me out when she would practically stalk me between classes...

Anyway, 'the other girl' rocks - couldn't be happier and 'Jane' and I are still friends - oh, and she hasn't mentioned anything about it - I don't think she will at this point.
