<<<... nothing bad ever happens in the Star Trek world ... >>>

That is my major grip about the current Star Trek franchise. If you must stay episodic because of the TV network system and sweeps month, at least have some "major" changes between seasons to keep the story fresh. Voyager lost me as a ST fan, because the story/plot is suck.
I mean you can interchange season 6 episodes with season 1 episodes, and the background/situation is exactly the same with exception of some minor changes (eg Kes, 7of9, Niomi, and the Borgie bunch). With the same "situation" lasting throughout the entire run of the series, you run out of good stories quick, and end up with clichéd or badly written stories.
Year in Hell is a good story and could have made Voyager better if it wasn't someone's bright idea to hit the BIG RESET BUTTON. I mean it will at least put Voyager in a different situation and can have fresh stories to come along with the change. But NO, the run have the be back to the same lovely dovely on its merry way home situation again.
I am a fan of ST:NG & DS9 because it got "fresh" episodes and the story does not become stale. Too bad for Paramount that Voyager lost me a a fan.
Paramount Studios - Take a look at Buffy, the show have "major" changes between seasons to keep ideas fresh. Don't assume that TV viewers are all just imbicles, otherwise, that's the only viewers you are going to get (and it already have happened ::cough:: WWF :cough:
. People actually appreciate a good story once in a while, and not just techno-bable and how many "explosions" you can fit in 60 minutes.
