gooooooooooo strawman!um, billions of people not doing it doesn't mean anything...
Since you seem to think that the number of people using a system makes it better, here's an idea:
Have a single time zone for the entire us with no daylight savings.
India has a single timezone (also it's offset by half an hour).
China has a single timezone.
That's nearly half of the world right there using a single timezone in a large country.
Therefore, since billions of people using a single timezone in their country, the us should use a single timezone as well.
Gooooooooooo logic!
Personally, I think we should scrap it. Its pretty pointless in modern society and the major reasons for its original creation no longer exist.
Even living in a state that doesn't use DST, its still mildly irritating because I know people on the east and west coast who do change. My family bounces between 2 hours ahead and 3 hours ahead. If I were to call at 7p my time, it'd be 10p there now. Far too late an hour to call. Which, really restricts when I can call because I'm usually not done with my day until after 6:30p at the earliest.
Jesus. We have gotten so wrapped up in ourselves we complain about taking 15 seconds to adjust a clock.
RIP the human race.
PS. I like it.
That's exactly what daylight saving time does. Gives you more sunlight in the evening/less in the morning. I feel we should move permanently to DST.
it's not the clock on the wall I object to, it's fucking with biological clock that is the problem. Traffic accidents spike for a few weeks because of sleep deprivation.
DST is fucking awesome. Get home from work and theres still plenty of hours of daylight left to do fun stuff.
Starting in a few weeks when I finally get to leave the school before 7pm, I'm going to absolutely love the extra hour of daylight so that I can spend more time outside being productive. Love it, love it, love it.
And, after I retire, if it were put to a vote, I'd still vote to have DST put into place during the summertime, if only so I can listen to all the whining twice a year.
Arizona is laughing at the rest of us right now.
I think an informal study needs to be done to compare the sentiments about DST in winter vs those in spring.Starting in a few weeks when I finally get to leave the school before 7pm, I'm going to absolutely love the extra hour of daylight so that I can spend more time outside being productive. Love it, love it, love it.
And, after I retire, if it were put to a vote, I'd still vote to have DST put into place during the summertime, if only so I can listen to all the whining twice a year.
That website sure looks credible
Thankfully I use devices that automatically set the time. Aside from a wristwatch, what doesn't?
