cracker makes me laugh.
I laughed right at this dude that called me that once, it was so friggin funny. Too bad he was too dumb to realize the irony.

Definition for: cracker

A person who breaks into computer systems, using them without
authorization, either maliciously or to just to show off.

Also, I'm a member of the mighty pink race, there's some albinos that are pretty white...

I guess crackers can't be tough if they're pink😉

No, it's a word, and unless it is directed at me, I take no offense. However, if it is directed towards me in the same way that another racial slur is directed at someone else, it has the same connotation, and thus I am obliged to feel offended.

well said. if it is said by say a black person and said person meant to offend me, then yes, it offends me....the same way that the "N" word would offend them.

I'm not certain if anyone has said this yet or not, but...

I'd say it's less offensive, because there hasn't been a generation of people using it as a verbally oppressive word. Derogatory words like n***** (I don't want to say it), Jew, etc. were used to dehumanize those to which the word was directed; such is not, to my knowledge, the case with cracker.
Yeah, actually there has, but for some reason the derogatory effect has never been achieved.
I would also like to know about whatever stigma is attached to ..... oops, someone already got banned for that!!

My people have been called Donkeys, harps, Micks, Macks, potato eaters, drunks, shanty, black, bogtrotter, Paddie, and so on.

Are these terms as derogatory as others?

Whatever happened to the word beloved patriot?
That's supposed to be a derogatory term for a white person. There's this black kid around here that we call beloved patriot. That's his official nickname. Actually I don't even know what his real name is, but everyone calls him that.

We are ammune to the word 'beloved patriot' after growing up watching George Jefferson call Tom Willis a beloved patriot every week on the Jeffersons.

I'm insulted they haven't come up with something better. All the other minorities get reaaly cool sounding racial slurs...

Ours is Cracker, wtf is up with that? Do you see salt sprinkled in my hair? Is my middle name Zesta?

No. It actually sounds kind of animated. I would be more offended to be call the "N" word if I was black, that's for sure.

racial slurs dont bother me. and cracker just sounds lame as hell. beloved patriot has a better ring to it

How about "White Trash"?

I bet if you posted a thread with the title "Poll: Black people. Are you offended by the word 'N!gger'?' that it wouldn't last too long.... anyone?

No. My wife calls me a "crazy cracker" all the time. Never found it offensive from her or anyone else.

Agreed, andthe word doesn't bother me🙂

I'm not. As long as I can call the same person who called me a cracker, a nlgger.

I'm sure cracker is usually used in a joking manner, which I even find it funny. At the same time, if someone calls me a cracker (joking or not) I expect to be able to call them something else in terms of what race they are. Of course only in a joking manner or on the same terms they started it.

'If you can dish it out, you should be able to take it.'

If I called you a Cracker why would you want to call me the N bomb?
