Nope. Nothing upsets me. Words are just words, and I chose not to be insulted by words. In fact, when an Iranian coworker of my husband called him a "yankee buffalo killer," we just laughed. Even if he hadn't been joking, it would have been funny. (The full sentence was "You leave that chicken alone, you yankee buffalo killer!" after they heard a strange noise in the shop.)

Watch the new Ocean's Eleven, it's in there. Bernie Mack is hysterical.
or watch a lot of movies with a black theme (i forgot which one it was that used "cracka a$$ muthafvcka" a LOT. It's funny when it's used heh.

Anything with Samuel L Jackson and a white co-star. :)

Shaft: "You still a m*****f*****' crackah, you know that." :D
Whitey: "Hey, f*** you too, Cornbread." :p :D

As my friend says, I am a cracka ass cracker.

And I voted for band together and form a new word, it would be so new and exciting.

ditto. racial slurs with the intent to offend/put down is unacceptable. im not sure if cracker is used in that fashion often.
Do you leave your house?

So, are normal slurs acceptable? Why does race get a special treatment? What about sex? Sexist jokes seem to be acceptable in society.
Religious jokes as well. So why is making fun of someones race more offensive than making fun of their weight, creed, sex, martial status etc? It's because everyone follows society standards like a lost herd of sheep.

This topic is old and worn, and really only stays afloat because of ignorant bigots who actually THINK about it.
Wah wah life is so hard because of this. Wah Wah my situation sucks because of this.

Grow up, realize life is full of double standards and get on with it.

i never said anything about other slurs.

i just think that if racial slurs became acceptable and widely used, it would make lives very unpleasant for minorities and may lead to further discrimination.

There's no "I'm colored and I want to see the results" option (well... no neutral option). That's RACIST!

I'm not certain if anyone has said this yet or not, but...

I'd say it's less offensive, because there hasn't been a generation of people using it as a verbally oppressive word. Derogatory words like n***** (I don't want to say it), Jew, etc. were used to dehumanize those to which the word was directed; such is not, to my knowledge, the case with cracker.

Its stupid, how can being called a snack food possible be offensive? I have heard it used on broadcast tv shows so it's impact must be minimal if anything.

I'm a beloved patriot and my husband is a Cracker.

Our children are Cracker Spics.

As long as it is said in a lighthearted way and not with a derisive tone, it's fine by us.

I would normally laugh at this, but if the "N" word offends black people then, if used in the same context, crackah would offend me. It's called equality, people, not special privileges. As far as I can see thus far, MLK Jr. dreamed in vain.
