Steak, ihmo, should not be eaten sweet, unless you specifically go for a teriyaki style steak. Steak should be juicy and tender and should be eaten with its cooked juices (along with the savory butter and onions it was cooked with), along with some salt. Any form of sweeter sauce should be removed.

Sometimes I will make some pretty elaborate marinades, but I usually do not put sauces or anything on the finished product.

sometimes. it depends. Sometimes I marinate with A-1. sometimes i just put it on and dip. lots of times ill have onions and mushrooms. best is to cook it with some grill seasoning. use whatever you like. add a tiny bit of A-1 to each side whill grilling. and eat it with Carrots, potatoes and Onions that you cook in Tinfoil on teh grill also. toss these 3 all together with some seasoning. I prefer janes. add some butter and cook for 45 min. flip it every now and then. soooooo gooooood

Cook a steak for 45 minutes?!?!?! Blasphemy! The most I put on my steaks is some sauteed mushrooms.

not the steak!!!!!!

the carrots potatos and onions in Tinfoil cooks for 45 min!!!!!!!!!

teh steak cooks till medium rare. you just start it so they are both done at the same time

think man think

I noticed that I started the poll but never stated my opinion. :D

I don't put anything on steak after it has been cooked. When I cook a steak, I will throw some salt/pepper/seasoning on it, but that is about it.

If the meat is GOOD meat it should not need any sauces ever (steaks, prime rib......not hamburger).

Growing up in Montana beef country, it is considered an insult to the cook if you ask for anything other than salt and pepper.

I remember some folks from the east coast came to visit my grandparents once. My grandmother had spent a large portion of the day making pies (from scratch), sweet potatoes.....in other words all the trimmings....and a fabulous 7 rib standing rib roast.

When the guests asked for A-1, my grandmother started crying something fierce and had to leave the room. In her mind it would have been less of an insult if they had slapped her in the face. Wow...it took time to smooth that one over. And our guests were mortified....they were not used to really good properly done meat. Needless to say that after eating it with nothing on, they understood.

iF IT'S A good steak, then salt only.

If it's one of those $2.00 steaks that I buy a lot, then I'll put worcestire on it. But not a lot, as I like my steaks on the rare side of Medium rare.

My wife on the other hand likes her steaks to be burnt offerin's so she puts all kinds of shite on it depending on her mood.

Buut, when I cook em on the grill, I don't put any seasoning on it as I like the charcoal taste plenty.
