A ventilation fan bolted into one side of my case, cannablised from a desktop Fujitsu 486. Keeps the Geforce SDR mighty cool at 135/190 :)

Nothing in my PC is old. I just recently replaced everything from scratch. The oldest part of my whole setup, is the a/v receiver I have the soundcard outputting to. It's about a year old now. It's a Denon AVR-1700, and does an amazing job. I paid $350 for it a year ago as they were phasing it out and couldn't be happier.

My 'clicky' switch-based keyboard. It's about 12 years old. I hate the membrane keyboards that everyone uses now, and if my keyboard ever broke, buying a new switch-based keyboard would cost an arm and a leg. :(

Funny you should ask! My brand-spanking system with a pro-audio soundcard and Klipsch ProMedia2.1 is using an RCA-miniplug adapter cable that came with the 1993 Sound Blaster Pro! Works like a charm! :) But it won't be long before I craft my own wires to replace these...

3COM 3C905-tx Network card... unless you wanna count case fans that I recycled from an old computer, but I am guessing you don't.

Actually my HD cable is from my old 286. I had a floppy drive in it from my old 286 too but it died a year ago so I had to get a new one.

Then comes my trusty imation 8x20x.

I use a floppy drive from a 486 that i got about 7 years ago ... I got it used. THe drive was originally in a DTK computer ... which was marked as a 1990 Device. I use the keyboard that came with that PC on my second box as well (abit bh6 celeron 533 @ 896). I also have 2 old 9GB Seagate drives that are ancient.. they are the Full Hight 5.25 inch variety.

Up till about 3 months ago i was using a generic sb16 card from 5 years ago in my box. And i still use a lan card i've had for 4 years in this box (its my second net card ... for MSICS)

hmmm ... i also have case fans that were originally in power supplies of 486s that died ... those are probably around 9 or 10 years old. and how about monitors .... Its not on my Main machine ... but i still have and use a 13inch monitor with a 12inch viewable capable of 800x600x60 ... the beast looks like a microwave oven. it was from 1990 as well. (i do sometimes have it on this box as a secondary display ... if i feel like having 2 monitors for my desktop ... when i do ... i hook it into my second vid card ... which happens to be a trident card from late 1980s.

up till recently i also had 2 1GB Scsi drives that were probably in the neiborhood of 8 years old.

and my system is pretty much up to date ... got lots of new stuff too .. abit kt7 raid, dual 30gb maxtors as well as 20gb ibm. 12x/10x/32x Plextor drive shall soon be mine (to replace scsi smart and friendly 4/12) toshiba 12x dvd to replace my dead 10x pioneer dvd. new IBM keyboard (only 3 years old) on my main box ... just like the old fashioned ones ... except keys have not been rubbed off by so much use.

hmmm... net card under a year old ..

Case is only about 6 months old (full tower foxconn ... its great ... holds All of my drives and has wheels ..)

256mb pc133 ram (however ... my second box has a 128mb pc100 chip from about 2 or 3 years ago)

so i have a mix of old and new i guess ... but my systems serve me well .. all i need is a new vid card (waiting for nv20) ... and then i can get rid of my Year old Viper II card

whew
