First, no one implied that there is tons of discrimination out there just because they voted in the poll. The question was asked, and some people selected "whites" as the most discriminated againt. The shrill reaction to the poll is kind of amusing. The knee jerk shouting of "ignorance" is typical. If there were 10 cases against white, and 5 cases against some minority group, the happy news is that there isn't that much going on. But the poll result would still say "whites" are the "most" discriminated against.
In fact I voted "whites", but I was also considering "gays". One reason I chose "white" is because if I were a black female with my identical credentials (engineering degree, 10 years of experience) then I would be a particularly hot commodity due to the undeniable skewing affect of the affirmative action culture. As it is, I'm a white male and I am a regular commodity.
My sister-in-law (white) ended up going to medical school overseas because she could not get into a med school with her good credentials. If she were a racial minority, she could have selected any medical school in this country (United States).
So don't panic when white people select "white" on this poll. White people are tired of being the neutral background in which non-whites congregate into racial special interest groups. The poll results aren't the result of ignorance. It ought to embarass the shouters of racial status quo that they have to resort immediately to name calling.
there is a time and place for name calling, that time and place is when the statements are soo audacious and so lacking in reason that it becomes clear the only possible response is name calling.
go back thru my threads, you'll see i have said many things against blacks and other minorities that were considered racist. But even as i made those statements there was NO question in my mind that minorities are discriminated against MORE than whites.
