Which would you buy and why?
Best Buy's 4 year extended warranty is $199, is it worth it?

Here are our TV viewing habits:
75% watching HDTV (will be using cable)
25% DVD, PC and gaming with XBOX 360

Value wise I'm leaning towards the Westinghouse 32" LCD for $809 - $264 BBB = $545
Even without $264 BBB it's still a great deal @ $809 out the door.

I'd go for the Pana myself, but the Westinghouse is a steal at that price, and their site is showing only $159 for the warranty at the $1k-$1.5k price on TVs. You'd be looking at just over $700 with a 4 year warranty, you'd have to be stupid not to?

What the hell, the BB salesperson quoted me $199 for a 32" LCD priced at $899 (less my 10% coupon).

If it were $100 it would be a no brainer. I'll be paying for it with my Amex which offers a free 1 year extended warranty.

That's including the mfg warranty though, not on top of it. I don't know if your Amex one would extend it or just include in the 4 years as well, if it extends it to a total of 5 years, why are you still thinking it over? $700 for a 32" LCD HDTV with 5 years of warranty coverage on it? Buy me one :p

You're correct, I wish the extended warranty was on top of the mfg warranty but course that would be too perfect.

The 4 yr extended warranty for this 26" LCD $899 is only $129, at that price I would seriously consider it.

I'm not sure if the Amex warranty is on top of the mfg warranty or extended warranty?

Just found out the BBB are NOT stackable with the 10% off coupon :(

If I purchase the 4 year warranty do you think I'd have enough leverage and they might accept the BBB and 10% off coupon?

Very likely they would, warranties are pure profit, TVs are next to no profit. At R$ we would do things like that all the time. Someone would buy a $200 TV, and the $60 warranty, and we'd knock $30 off the price of the TV. The TV's cost was something like $185, so it'd come out in our favor. Rather than just the $15 profit before, we'd get $45 of profit out of it, even though we technically lost money on the TV.

If the cost of the TV will be $899 (without your 10%) and you can take off the $264, you'll STILL be getting a fantastic deal. I'd say definitely push the 10% if the warranty is under $150 or so. Seems like it's based on the price of the product, so if it drops to under $1k the price of the warranty might be only $130.

$764 for a 32" LCD HDTV with 4 years of warranty (possibly 5 from Amex), plus whatever your tax would be (mine would be 6%). Maybe you can get them to agree to 10% off that price, not the $899. You'd still save like $76, not $99, but better than nothing.

Upon further reading, I'd say go for the Westinghouse, no questions asked. The price is definitely right, the reviews all seem to be glowing. The lowest I could find it online was about $1100 (no shipping included), although I saw hints that BB had done a special for $999 with a free $200 speaker system a week or two back.

Oh well, good luck finding it. And remember, they may squirm when you ask to stack the 10% with the BBB, but keep pushing them on it, then drop the hint that you want the warranty and see what happens. If they still refuse, tell them that you'd be willing to take the 10% off AFTER they apply the BBB, not before. Worst comes to worst you don't save $90, but still get a great deal.
