What happened to the other major religions?
-Confucianism

BTW, beside the belief in a god(s)/goddess(es), what exactly is a deist?

A Deist believes that God created everything and then "left us alone" since creation.

Out of all the choices I'm mostly a Taoist. But it's a philosophy of mine, not a religion.

I'm really a chaotic agnostic taoist buddhist.

Confucianism and Daoism aren't religions, they're philosophies. Like Hakuna Matata.

I think you should add the option "No Religion Preference." I personally consider atheism as a type of religion just which does not believe in a "God." I personally have no religion preference and do not consider myself a member of any of the choices that you have provided.

Athiesm is not a Religon you spooge!

Technically, without proof that a god does not exist, it takes faith to believe that one does not -just like it takes faith to believe that one does. So athiesm can be considered a religion because it can be based on faith --just like evolution.

;)

I hate to say it, but that's a pile of horseshit. It doesn't take faith to not believe in God; it just takes the common sense of not jumping to conclusions without evidence.

I'm an agnostic. Why? Because I believe there are forces out there that we don't/can't understand. However, I don't believe in any defined "god".

As a rule, I believe in the self. The power of an individual to control his/her destiny.

eh lets try to avoid the flamefest... ffmcobalt is right in some sense though, it does require faith in logic and common sense when the rest of the world goes against it. think about if you woke up one day and the entire world had gone mad. it would require some modicum of faith to keep believing that you were sane, year after year. ;) imo, of course.

Athiest, the only one that makes any sense.

Btw, I heard (or thought I heard, for I still don't fully believe it) a scary statistic today. It seems 45% of americans identify themselves as born again christians. I dunno about everyone else, but this kind of statistic sends chills down my spine. *shudder*

If you want that, just vote Atheist or Agnostic you puss. Or are you afraid Christiantech is going to hunt you down and "educate" you if you do that?

Edit: I'm agnostic. The universe is too well designed and works too well for me to believe it was accidental. However, I abhor the idea of worship and refuse to believe in a god powerful enough to create all this but petty enough to demand constant suplication.

Read Red Dawn's definition.
Daoism and Confucianism qualify a religions because they have the fundamental idea that the tao/dao/tien guides the universe and must be respected.
That is the supernatural force. As for the other traits, that's pretty evident for anyone who has basic knowledge of the religion + followers.

Just because they have strong philosophical groundings and teachings doesn't mean they can be dismissed as religions.

Atheism has powers guiding it: the power of hate and the power of whining about religions.

I don't believe in god, but I am able to respect and celebrate other peoples' beliefs...but I would never call myself atheist.
