I saw an AOL poll with 80% yes results. I was in awe. I know alot of people here are in favor of legalization or decriminalization (disproportionately). How many?

Legalize it. Marijuana is safer than alcohol, so why is it illegal yet alcohol is not?

Oh? Is that why four joints per week has the same cancer-causing chemical ingredients that comprise a pack of cigarettes per day?

Legalize it. There are gangwars over the massive trafficking overit, drug lords profit. If legalize it, then it can literaly home grown. If sold just let the goverment put a big tax on it. There should be a 21 Age limit and it must be done in your house not veichle.

Cigarettes have infinately more carcinogens than no cigarettes. Should they be illegal?

It's homegrown whether or not it's against the law.

No, they don't. And even if they did, two wrongs don't make a right. Don't make something harmful legal just because something else is worse and legal

That's just asinine.

Better to be asinine than hypocritical. Why should one set of people be allowed to do something that is harmful to their health but not another set?

Niether the Constitution nor the Bible prohibit marijuana.
It is hard for me to see how alcohol is safer in any way than marijuana, so why is it illegal?
I know you have heard the anti-drug propoganda about marijuana, but it is certainly not objective.
There are huge problems in this world, one of them is the war on drugs.
What makes me think I am so objective?
I have smoked loads of it, but I have not done so in over 15 years.
I know tons of folks on both sides of the issue.
I suspect you have never smoked it, and only move in circles of folks who are rabidly against it.
Nothing wrong with that, but it doesn't set you up for an objective look at it.

Even if this were true, the argument is rendered invalid because marijuana can be consumed orally. (And quite effectively, I might add.)

Legalize it!!

I don't see a big difference between it and alcohol and it's legal.

Did you read what he said?
You want to base somethings illegality on the basis that it causes cancer.
Jello ask you if cigaretts should be illegal.
The problem with what you said here: "...two wrongs don't make a right. Don't make something harmful legal just because something else is worse and legal
rolleye.gif

We don't want the government telling us what is harmful or not. We want freedom to choose for ourselves. We also want our laws to be consistant and not hypocritical. the laws regarding tobacco, marijuana, and alcohol are inconsistant, hypocritical, and damaging to this country.

So ban it all. :)

A total ban would be great.
Many folks would continue to seek out alcohol, and then they would suddenly see how they are exactly like folks seeking marijuana. And, that would lead to the legalization of both alcohol and marijuana.

When you buy illegal tobacco and alcohol you are funding terrorism!
