If you believe in the New Testament, it is a sin. Jesus even went so far as to say that just looking at another woman meant the man had already committed adultery with her.

From this thread, looks like they'll be more room in heaven for me 🙂

damn, i think heaven must be a pretty empty place. I hope they have a ATOT in hell, cause if they don't have it, then it would be truely hell.

okay, they probably don't have it.

Not that I go for this "sin" business but it seems to me the only "sin" involved is just how many of you will walk on by perfectly fine women in realtime simply because they don't look and act like those 2D images you spend so much time staring at.

Hell, if it weren't a sin, it wouldn't be half as cool to watch!

So I'm gonna say, damn straight its a sin, and AMEN to that.

I mean, can you imagine if porn became so acceptable that talking about The Adventures of Ass Master #17 became casual dinner conversation?

EXACTLY! Preach on, sister! I also sincerely doubt pr0n models feel all that great about themselves.

Pr0n is not only degrading, it's also a waste of time.

No!

I don't consider watching pr0n the same thing as commiting adultery. If it was then most, if not all, of the married men on this forum would have cheated on their wives multiple times. 🙂

Oh, so I guess my wife would have no problem with me looking at pr0n. Heck, we'll make it a date!

the question is, how many of the married women (theres only like 5 of you) would have cheated on their husbands multiple times?

This is of course contingent upon believing in the idea of a "sin".

My moral character is based on my own perception of right and wrong, not by what is deemed morally congruous by others. With that said, I don't think it's very healthy when taken in large doses.

Saying "it's a sin" means very little to me. There are a lot of things I avoid doing not for fear of "sinning", but quite simply because I feel it would be absurd to do so. I don't really need a group of people delegating my actions or deeming my actions inappropriate.

I don't know of a single male who hasn't viewed porn at some point in his life. However, I do find porn that completely degardes women to be extremely offensive.

i always thought #10 covered it, although i guess most porn stars aren't married

Matthew 5:27-30

"You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery.' But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.

Colossians 3:5

Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

Personally, I feel that watching porn or having lust in the heart as sinful, and that no one is perfect in that they have never had lust in their hearts. For some, it becomes a habit. Whenever they're lonely or alone, porn quickly becomes the solution. Is this healthy?

if a cop catches you, indecent exposure lust is one of the 7 deadly sins, is it not?

It would be important to know that what you do in your own home reguarding porn isn't something that the law can prosecute privided that you're of legal age and aren't involved in under-age entertainers.

That said, I'm still against it.

Imagine a world without porn, without voilence, without inequality of sex. Imagine a world in which really decent young people grow up and fall in love, worship each other, feel deep and abiding compassion and tenderness for each other, and discover the wonderful cherry called sex that sits atop the ice cream mountain of love and explore it together free from comparisons, images of rape and brutality, perversion and sensationalism, but as a deeply rewarding and satisfying mutual experience of the deepest kind imaginable.

Every time one looks at porn, one pushes that world farther and farther away. Porn is a replacement for a real life in a real world. It is neither good or evil except in that for which it is a substitute. It is an attempt to break into paradise by force, a theft of crumbs from the table of life.

W.W.J.D. ... for a Klondike bar?

Good point made re: Lust and Pride - so you can't lust after your girlfriend/fiancee/wife, and you can't be proud of your son/father etc when they're war heroes?

F0rk that. Now if you'll excuse me, I'd like to go see the response in the "luvya wants his cousin" OT thread. Funny stuff there.

[Moe]You little S.O.B.! Why, when I find out who you are, I'm going to shove a sausage down your throat and stick starving dogs in your butt![/Moe] 😀

Porn is no different than cosmo, vogue, maxim or stuff ... it's biggest crime is that it paints an unrealistic and unnatianable image of what sex is.
