There are several presumptions in this thread:

Porn is bad.

Is it, necessarily? Is it a bad thing if two people who love each other (or three people?) use pornography to stimulate their sex lives? The assumption by many people in this thread is that porn is a bad thing with no redeeming value, destabilizing to relationships, and causing people to waste time and energy chasing fantasies that can have no basis in reality. Yes, it can be those things, but by no means must it be those things. It can be a valid part of a healthy relationship, and it can be an excellent way for a single person to relieve stress.

Sin.

To accept the concept of Sin, one must first acknowledge the concept of a Judeo-Christian monotheistic God. Personally, I feel that the very concept of Sin is equally as ridiculous as the very concept of "worshipping" God. In looking at porn without the concept of God, one should ask, "is doing this harming me or anyone I care about? What are the benefits?" No higher powers needed, thank you.

Marriage.

Marriage is an human cultural artifact, not a law of nature.

As much as it is to deny and loathe your sexuality as an animal. But Moonbeam said it. Must be those magic mushrooms.

The Bible does not tell anyone to have sex purely for procreation. It simply doesn't. If you think so, then prove it. I dare you to even try.

Moreover, some sects believe that any kind of birthcontrol is bad. Some believe that the "morning after" pill is murder.

Pride.....the deadliest sin

Don't lust for your wife, nor be proud of anyone in your family!

No....lusting for your wife is fine so long as you love her and having pride in other people is also fine. The sin of Pride is to think of yourself as better then other people or better then God.

everything defined by mankind is usually just "defined by mankind"... it may be a shade of grey, it may be impossible prove, it may be wrong, it may be right, whatever it is it is only defined by .

even if it did matter, does it really matter? for all we know, consciousness may not really exist since we are the only ones that's deeming its existence. and everything else besides consciousness, what we know are just law of nature.

so the real question is not is it a sin to watch, but do higher beings watch?

aliens, human in 5002, or gods!!!!

we need to know more about things that we don't know about, not what we know.

I don't consider watching pr0n the same thing as commiting adultery. If it was then most, if not all, of the married men on this forum would have cheated on their wives multiple times. :)

: ) Amanda

the question is, how many of the married women (theres only like 5 of you) would have cheated on their husbands multiple times?

If porn were adultery, then I would have. Of course, I like to watch porn WITH the husband, so that adds a new layer of moral confusion ;)
