Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Reason being: I've got the all-too-common case of having parents that think AOL is great, and anything else is spyware. Installed Firefox one day only to be chewed out for "installing a virus on the CPU". Yep, you heard correctly, I installed a virus on the CPU. I respect my parents and all, but they are morons when it comes to the times we live in.
Oh, and by the way, the next computer we will be getting will most likely be an overpriced POS bought off of ShopNBC. All my time spent on NewEgg will have been in vain, and I don't even have the backbone to tell them they could build something superior for much less. Ain't it great? :disgust:
I feel your pain, When I was a teenager my mother came to me for advice she said "WOW we are going to be on the cutting edge, so hun I need your help in shopping for a computer" all of my advise was for nothing the day I came home and found some generic POS with a no-name crap motherboard, and then fast 2x CD-ROM with a mind of it's own( it ate many cd's). I have been in your shoes before and it hurts.
But I have an Idea, tell me what you want from new-egg and I will set up a fake buisness and sell it to them as the latest and greatest.

I think I'm actually going to open to my mouth about building though. Better to try and not succeed rather than not trying at all. Wish me luck.

In a couple years, you'll see why suggesting others build isn't the greatest idea. Doing tech support and being blamed for a crappy computer every time they break it gets old. Unless someone really likes building and messing around with computers, building isn't the way to go. Suggest they get a Dell or something with a nice warranty and customer support. Makes your life easier.
Building is great for your own personal computer if you like that sort of thing. I've built every computer I've ever owned. Most people love to build systems for others when they first learn how and how much you can save. Most quit doing it soon after because it's a headache. Your parents will blame you anytime something goes wrong on the "custom" built machine. They will cuss Dell if you don't build it.

Like? Maybe there's some I don't know about that will make me switch too.![]()
That's all great... and I understand you're attacking the "rebels"... but the fact remains $#!T doesn't always work on FF while it does for IE. Until useability is on par, this should not be used as a selling point.Originally posted by: Googer

A rebel is someone who does not comform to standards set by society. So using that quick defintion, Microsoft is the rebel here with its non-conforming and non-standards-complient web browser. Netscape is the original web browser untill Microrebelsoft came along. IE is just a Rebel, that does not conform to CSS. The opensource and alternatvie (opera) browsers are conforming to web based standards that MS does not adhere to.
but the fact remains $#!T doesn't always work on FF while it does for IE.
And secondly, it is true that rebels are the driving force behind the FF campaign
I wish people would stop touting and hyping it like it's the 2nd coming.
