How many Anandtech Users are still surfing with Microsoft Internet Explorer. By now I am assuming most readers of AnandTech.com are the 10% of the users who like Non IE based Web Browsing i.e Mostly Firefox, Opera, or mozilla suite. But lets see if i am correct. Feel Free to give any answer you like. I respect your choice.

IF you are using a browser not listed above let me know before you vote and I will add it to the Poll.

Firefox took a little getting used to, but now that I've used it for a few months IE seems like POS. If I could figure out how to get Firefox to play web site sounds I'd be really happy, lol.

IE needs to die. I hate navigating in IE, especially middle-clicking on a link to open it in a new tab. Oh wait...no tabs in IE.

Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Reason being: I've got the all-too-common case of having parents that think AOL is great, and anything else is spyware. Installed Firefox one day only to be chewed out for "installing a virus on the CPU". Yep, you heard correctly, I installed a virus on the CPU. I respect my parents and all, but they are morons when it comes to the times we live in.

Oh, and by the way, the next computer we will be getting will most likely be an overpriced POS bought off of ShopNBC. All my time spent on NewEgg will have been in vain, and I don't even have the backbone to tell them they could build something superior for much less. Ain't it great? :disgust:

Other - Slimbrowser (yet another IE shell)

I was a longtime Firefox user but have stopped using it due to reasons stated in other threads which I don't want to rehash here. I evaluated Avant and Maxthon and didn't really like them so it's Slimbrowser for me.

I feel your pain, When I was a teenager my mother came to me for advice she said "WOW we are going to be on the cutting edge, so hun I need your help in shopping for a computer" all of my advise was for nothing the day I came home and found some generic POS with a no-name crap motherboard, and then fast 2x CD-ROM with a mind of it's own( it ate many cd's). I have been in your shoes before and it hurts.

But I have an Idea, tell me what you want from new-egg and I will set up a fake buisness and sell it to them as the latest and greatest.

I use whatever my mouse happens to point to first on the quick launch bar, which happens to be IE every once in a while.

The reason I use IE has to do with the way I snarf pages with WGet. The pages are stored in c:\urls\www.webpage.com\page.html, with links like <img src="/urls/www.webpage.com/images/img.jpg">. The problem is I can't get Mozilla anything to recognize that "/" means "c:/", while IE does this just fine.
