Thank you political correctness....

Yea...they didn't do sh!t about it. he could be doing what he did to me to some other poor unsuspecting girl in some other work place. Bleh..

If you are stupid enough to make a comment like that in today's work enviroment, you deserve to get written up.

This sexual harrasment stuff in today's world is such crap. If anyone was not aware, women run the world, and this proves it.
Here is what happened. Someone in my row said that the IT department of the company I work for sucks. I made the comment that if you get a certain person on the phone (lets callt his person "Cindy") to just hang up because she has no clue. Someone else in the row asked me how she got her job, and I replied "It probably had to do with Cindy wearing kneepads".
One of the women in the row took exception to that, and told the HR guy, and I was wirtten up for it. This woman is not in any way related to IT or Cindy.
What I don't get is this same women made a comment VERY close to this about her very own manager "taking it up the wazoo" to keep his job. I should also say that this woman once became deathly afraid of the number 5, and freaked out whenever she saw it for a few days because the number 5 was "kinda pointy and round"
Then I get told that I am not allowed to retaliate in any way against the person who got me written up (like I would. I could care less, and doing something like that is not worth my time) and to "just act like it never happened". How the hell do you act like it never happened? Am I allowed to say that the dress she is wearing looks nice? (I am a very easy going person at work, and try to make everyone's day a little better)
I decided I am just not going to say anythign to this person, ever. If she asks me questions, I am just going to say that I do not want to talk to her because I don't want anything I say to come across wrong.
Cliff Notes: I got written up because I have a penis.

What you said WAS inappropriate.... I mean, grow up... We live in ultra-PC times and you have to be mature and deal with that reality... I got fired from a job for replying to a post on my intra-office "off-topics" like forum about the movie X-Men... Someone posted "Don't waste your money on this movie! What a waste of money!" ... I replied "I actually thought that it was very good... There was a lot of exposition but the movie was rather entertaining"... No curses, no flames.. No anger.. But I was fired for harassment... My superviser,Mike, also got fired for telling an asian guy that he was tall for an asian guy (he was 6'4").. The asian guy smiled and thanked Mike but someone else in the office complained... You HAVE to watch what you say at your work... Your comment implied so much that you deserved to be fired.. Really, is it really appropriate to suggest that a co-worker only got her job because she gave someone a blow job? What if someone said that about you or your mother... You shouldn't be just dismissing this as her being over sensitive.. You were in the wrong... Now grow up...

Yeah that's the best course of action. It sucks because I've made comments before inadvertantly that I could have been written up for. When you're at work in a guy environment and there are 6 guys and there happens to be one girl in the room who's fairly easy going you start to think that maybe you can act as if she's a guy, and then you realize that you've said something that she may or may not take offense at. It sucks and I'm more cognizant of it now, but you've gotta watch yourself because even one harmless comment can get you written up!I decided I am just not going to say anythign to this person, ever. That's an interesting post. On the one hand if your story is correct you were fired for...nothing. Nothing offensive at all, and then your boss was also fired for what most people would find perfectly harmless, and even most dickweeds wouldn't find particularly offensive. But, you seem to think that there was nothing wrong with itWhat you said WAS inappropriate.... I mean, grow up... We live in ultra-PC times and you have to be mature and deal with that reality... Yeah I agree it's tasteless and sexually demeaning, but then those make the best jokes! If I know anything about you M4H I'm sure you've made such a joke before too! Seriously people, once you get comfortable in an environment you're liable to start joking around accordingly and it's pretty damn easy to slip up and say something you otherwise think you'd not be so stupid to say.Originally posted by: MercenaryForHire

That's sad that so many of you are so willing to rip off your penis and throw it out the window in support of a sad situation in the work place where any comment about anyone is offensive to anyone else.
Yes you're very dramatic, bravo. It is not appropriate to suggest that someone performed sexual favors to get their job.
It is a fuggin joke. It is not imo very mature or adult-like to get someone written up for saying such a joke.

True that's why one should always measure their words when talking about a Supervisor in front of co-workers.Originally posted by: Skoorb
