WOW! i'm surprised not to see more Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and Porsches desired. Yes, the McLaren F1, Bugatti Veyron and EB 110, Benz CLK-GTR, Zonda C12, and others go beyond 220 mph and have insane 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. and i also know the starter of this thread has geared it toward speed specifically. but has anyone noticed the trend of these other companies? its as though their only goal is to put out a supercar that tops everything else on the road...and they may even succeed in doing so. but how many other successful cars have they built and become a hit around the world? sure all of these companies have rich racing backgrounds and won many titles in LeMans, F1, and other circuits, but none have been as successful both on and off the track as Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Porsche. and in doing so, these 3 automobile makers have managed to make the most beautiful and inspiring sports cars ever.
i would have to say that if i could have any one of the vehicles aforementioned in this thread, it would be the Lamborghini Diablo 6.0. i have never seen a more beautiful car in my life. and the fact that its top end is slower than many other cars is fine with me...i'm happy with 205mph. after all, Lamborghini's goal was not to create the fastest, most powerful car in the world. his goal was to create a beast and disguise it in a sleek, gorgeous skin, and that's exactly what he did. sure the McLaren F1, the Veyron, Koenigsigg, and many other supercars will beat the Diablo top end, 0-60, and 1/4 mile. but who's going to turn more heads? the Diablo 6.0 without a doubt...
although i would for sure pick the Diablo 6.0 first, the Ferrari 360 Modena makes it a tough choice. just as the Diablo 6.0 (but not quite as sexy), this car's lines and curves make it one of the most beautiful sports cars in the world. i'd take either a berlinetta or a spider...they are equally beautiful. once again, this is a car that will turn more heads than a McLaren and the like.
and finally, a car that's right up there with the Diablo and the Modena is the Porsche Turbo. sure Porsche's GT1 and GT2 are are quicker around the track, but once again it boils down to beauty IMHO. the lines and curves are much more refined and sleek on the Turbo. it is the only car that is simly referred to as "the Turbo." i know the GT2 looks almost identical, but there are a few subtle differences between the two, and those are what make the Turbo my choice as far as looks go. if the Diablo and the Modena weren't so outrageous, i'd be tempted to say that the 911 Turbo is the most beautiful sports car i've ever seen. by the way, i test drove a Turbo today...unbelieveably fast. @ 100mph i was still in third gear, and nowhere near the redline. unfortunately, i didn't get a chance to take it above 120mph...i probably would have wrapped it around a telephone pole or something anyways. although i'd rather have a rwd car, the 4wd was nice. it handled like it was on rails. they had a GT2 on the lot too, but the owner wouldn't let us take it for a spin...i dont blame him

. anyways, i hope to be getting one of these around graduation, but we'll see...
so as you can see, with me its not just about performance and who's at the top in every aspect, but rather its about beauty also. i havent disregarded performance by any means...after all, the Diablo, the Modena, and the 911 Turbo can outperform 99.9% of the cars on the road. but they do it in style, with grace and beauty unmatched by any other supercar.
