Unless it's summertime and it's hot (in which case I'm taking a COOL shower most likely), I don't want to stand in the cold-ass water while I wait for the hot water to make its way up from the basement.

I don't really need to. Hot water gets to my faucet pretty quick actually. By the time I turn on the faucet and pull the knob to turn on the shower, and step in, the water is warm.

Since it takes about 10 seconds for my shower to warm up, not really.
I usually take off clothes, turn on shower, get towel(s), get in shower.
By then, it's warm.

Heck yes. I turn the faucet on to full hot so it gets hot quickly and then turn it down to where it's comfortable. Takes so much less time doing that than waiting for it to get to where I want it if I just turn it on to the desired temperature.

I never do. Just hop in and turn the water on.

I live on the third floor. Some times it awhile for the water temperature to stabilize.
