I guess I don't see what the big deal is. It seems like people do with it what they want: I know lots of people who have smoked it on occasion and have no problems. Others consume their life with it, but probably out of choice rather than compulsion.

I never have, but who knows if/when I will. I keep waiting for the perfect moment/person/place to try it out. Maybe in Amsterdam...:D

I've never met or heard of anybody whos life has been "consumed" by cannabis. It just isn't the same as drugs like heroine, cocaine, meth..

Those are the bad drugs. Those are the ones that should be illegal. To have cannabis grouped with them is just about as outrageous as you can get, lol.

I am glad I got my degree done before discovering cannabis - I would not have graduated had I smoked during my degree. Cannabis robs motivation.

It certainly can, yeah. But it can also increase motivation in some cases...

It makes you curious, makes you think.. It's a mind expanding drug.

I would argue that it's a mind changing drug, not expanding. It has negative and positive effects.

I guess. I still see it as more of an expanding change, because it enables you to see thing from different points of view.. It changes your perception.. And believe me, people need as many perception changes as they can get, lol..

I should also point out that a perception change is in no way, shape or form a bad thing.. It happens all the time.. when you hear that same song you've been listening to in a different way, when someone points to an ink spot and says "look, a dragon", and you're like.. "where... oh! i see it".. etc.. lol

hmmm...yes i do, but no more than eh twice a month if that, sometimes ill just stop outta nowhere, and i have more trouble controlling alchohol use than this, plus out of control alchohol use is painful, so i quit drinking.

I do wonder tho, i know a lot of ppl that seem to smoke weed after getting professional job....ok not a lot, but some...i know most companies have in their contract a drug testing clause. Is this ever used? Is anyone afraid of this? juss wonderin

Everytime I come into these threads I'm always amazed at the effectiveness of our governments brainwashing.

What he said pretty much sums up my opinion on the subject. :)

Have I? No.
Would I smoke it if legalized? No.
Would I consume it via alternative means? Probably.

If it was legalized, and I could ingest it, instead of smoke it, I'd probably forgo alcohol for weed. Weed has far less negative aspects to it than alcohol, but still gives you a nice little high.

I'd probably hit it every now and then.

Interesting to see from the poll results that AT is a surprisingly weed-friendly place.

I just wish I had the means to grow it myself. If it was legal I would move somewhere where I could have a huge garden.

<<----Haven't in a long time. It's fun and enjoyable, but it's not like the end-all, be-all of existence. Things that I look forward to in my life are just things that happen, real experiences that have nothing to do with drugs. But as I said, it can be fun every now and then.

I just think it's funny how the only people who speak condescendingly to pot-smokers is those who have never tried it. ;) They argue so adamently about a subject that they just don't understand.

Yes. Probably not the experience you're referring to, but I have quite a bit of experience with it.

If you've never used it, then you've never experienced it. You may have experience with others that use it or have used it. That is a totally different experience.

Be careful of weed food. One day I had a weed cookie and was high for 6 hours.

One day I had a weed cookie and was high for 6 hours.

and there is something wrong with that? the reason: the oil that has absorbed all the THC stays in your system a lot longer, because it is harder to breakdown, "more bang for your buck", so to speak.

There wasn't really anything wrong with it, except I was socially inept and was somehow afraid that I was going to be "high forever". Ordering food was a niiiiiightmare. But the food was sooo good. Hehe

I'm tempted every now and then to try it but I always hold out in the end. I'm not really offended by anyone smoking it around me as long as they don't get caught.

Well, having both used it myself and having friends who have used it, I'm in a lot better position to comment than you are. I'm not trying to convince you to try it, but you are far from having experienced it, so don't act like you have.
