... I don't really care if it looks ghey to someone or not. It's a matter of functionality to me.

um if it's an old man, then no. it's not gay.
however, if it's a student, it's much more hip to keep the cell-aaaay in the pocket.
Um, you obviously don't wear slacks, ever.
Phones cause strange bulges in slacks pockets. Plus it's much more professional to have you cell phone within reach rather than playing pocket pool in front of clients every time it rings.
So does every other "professional" I have met
Sorry, that has nothing to do with you being a professional and everything to do with you being a dork.Originally posted by: Shanti
Anyone who uses the word "ghey" and worries about whether or not a cell phone belt clip looks stupid must be about 14.
Yeah, I remember being 14. It's all about what's cool and what's not.
When I was in HS, the big "ghey" thing was wearing a backpack with both straps. You just weren't cool unless you only used one shoulder strap. Sometimes I still have a hard time putting both straps on, until I realize how much more comfortable it is and how completely shallow and stupid it is to worry about people thinking you are a nerd because you use both straps on your backpack.
I'm a software developer and I'm pretty much always on call in case there are problems with any of our internal applications. So I always have my phone.
So yes, I use a belt clip for my phone. So does every other "professional" I have met. Although I usually have the clip attached to my front pocket because I don't usually wear a belt and it's more comfortable than having it on my waistband or in my pocket.
Plus, I don't want to have to stand up in the middle of a meeting with my managers to pull a phone out of my pocket.

hmmm, my experience is only the very young and ghey professionals wear a clip. Once you get older you just don't see people wearing them because, well, it looks stupid and says "look at me! I have a cell phone!"
