If you worry about what other people think about how you wear your cell phone, you have a lot more wrong with you than "ghey."

G4y.

For the complete mall-cop look, just add a pager, a key ring with at least 50 keys, a wallet with a chain, and a towel hanging out of one pocket.

When I'm at work (khakis and polo shirt), I keep the cell phone on one side of my hip and the police radio on the other.

When I'm not at work, my phone fits in my pocket.

Maybe if I was a professional business type dude I would have a belt clip but since I'm a 20 year old kid, hell no. :)

Ghey.

I tried it for a couple days, and it sucked. It was always in my way, and I bashed it on half the doorways I walked through.

I usually just put it in my pants pocket, inside front suit pocket, or laptop case.

definately gay.

Watches, neklaces, rings, etc are accessories.

Tech gadgets are not.

My vote is for superior gay.

I use one, just because I don't like stuff in my pockets. I don't really care if it looks ghey to someone or not. It's a matter of functionality to me.

Exactly. All these people having their life dictated by what others may, or may not think about them. Now THAT is "ghey."

I like having my phone on a belt clip. Makes it much easier to get to. Go ahead and keep sticking your cell phone in your pocket....just don't blame me when you kid is born with 3 arms and has no lips.

I wonder out of all the "its gay" responses, how many of those people just have ghey cell phones that they would be embarassed to be seen using.

however, if it's a student, it's much more hip to keep the cell-aaaay in the pocket.

Um, you obviously don't wear slacks, ever.

Phones cause strange bulges in slacks pockets. Plus it's much more professional to have you cell phone within reach rather than playing pocket pool in front of clients every time it rings.

I have had talks in bars/clubs of women laughing at people with belt clips...everything from attention starved to one actually using the quote "toner monkey off duty" hehe.

I have a 8260 and keep it in my pocket....slacks or jeans it's almost unnoticeable and easy to get. I don't keep anything, but my phone in my left pocket.

The worst is those with two phones and a beeper...get a clue! :)

Anyone who uses the word "ghey" and worries about whether or not a cell phone belt clip looks stupid must be about 14.

Yeah, I remember being 14. It's all about what's cool and what's not.

When I was in HS, the big "ghey" thing was wearing a backpack with both straps. You just weren't cool unless you only used one shoulder strap. Sometimes I still have a hard time putting both straps on, until I realize how much more comfortable it is and how completely shallow and stupid it is to worry about people thinking you are a nerd because you use both straps on your backpack.

I'm a software developer and I'm pretty much always on call in case there are problems with any of our internal applications. So I always have my phone.

So yes, I use a belt clip for my phone. So does every other "professional" I have met. Although I usually have the clip attached to my front pocket because I don't usually wear a belt and it's more comfortable than having it on my waistband or in my pocket.

Plus, I don't want to have to stand up in the middle of a meeting with my managers to pull a phone out of my pocket.

hmmm, my experience is only the very young and ghey professionals wear a clip. Once you get older you just don't see people wearing them because, well, it looks stupid and says "look at me! I have a cell phone!"

Sorry, that has nothing to do with you being a professional and everything to do with you being a dork.

No, my whole point is that mature people aren't making any statement by wearing a belt clip. As you get older, you become less concerned with stupid shallow things like whether a belt-clip looks "ghey". That is definitely a high school attitude. Those who call people dorks for wearing a cell phone belt-clip are either still in highschool or still have the maturity of a high-school kid. And if you're still in high school, remember, be nice to the geeks, someday you'll be working for them.

It's all about functionality and for many people, having a belt-clip is much more functional than sticking the phone in your pocket.

What kind of pants do you wear that you can't get your phone out of your pocket without standing up?
Better still, what kind of "professional" would answer a cellphone in the middle of a meeting with his managers?

Well, I keep mine in my pocket. I don't want to show my phone off. I don't want someone to try and grab it. I don't want it to catch on things.
