And this is why people don't like California.

Yeah, more or less. Texas too.

Californians are JUST LIKE Texans, they just won't admit it to themselves.

We, unlike Texas, have valid reasons to be boastful

Funny, that's exactly what the Texans say.

You're no different. Both states have arrogant self images that are no different from what most foreigners hate about America in general.

Actually, most foreigners love California and want to visit here.
And there are an awful lot of Texans here in California, 'cause Texas sucks so bad.
I want to see Treasure Island in SF made into Hotel/Casino/resort, and then Nevada can finally dry up and blow away.
And as for all of the businesses that are leaving California for Nevada, name one?

I know quite a few (including mine), most of those I know are online. Many, of course, have already left for Delaware. In fact, not only has Schwarzenegger spoken quite a few times about it, he's visted Nevada a few times to woo businesses back. Smart guy, I wish him the best of luck. Unless this is corrected, this exodus will have long reaching consequences for CA's economy.

Keep telling yourself that....

Yeah, it bought a few billboards in LV...it was kinda pitiful.

Screw that... People don't want to pay California taxes in Vegas. Keep your "Governator" and your damn car tax outta that state.

Whether you like or dislike California, you have to admit we have the best weather out of all the contiguous states.

well last i heard of it was that it doesn't matter. ca spawns enough businesses that it more than makes up for what we lose. states that get the few business's that can't hack it here are in a way dependent on us.😛 other states rely on migration from ca for population growth too, but ca is in no way shrinking. we've seen ads from other states here on and off, its just kinda sad. begging u to live in the desert or in freezing cold since they can't create their own businesses😛

Then why is it the the Gov somes over tto Nevada attempting to woo back business that have left with promises of things are going to get better.
Nevada's primary businesses existed long before CA started to take off.
We just have learned to control the business atmosphere so that we do not drive out what we have.

Percentage wise, there are many more people and businesses from CA coming to spend $$ in NV, than in reverse.

I'm just waiting for the casino moguls to create a super train from LA to LV which will cut the drive down to 1.5 hrs. 😀

Get rid of the tree huggers and it shall come.

The California Way:

1. Make big money in CA (at doing what...Lord only knows)
2. Move to a lower income states in droves and drive prices through the stratosphere.
3. The newly transformed states become so expensive, teachers, service oriented people, etc., can't afford to live there anymore or have their quality of life seriously impeded.

I saw the carnage first hand being a native Montanan and are seeing it now in Vegas where we need 2000 teachers but affordable housing for them is a pipe dream, hence the never ending problem of turnover. I'd personally like to thank all the big time CA investors that snapped up all those relatively low priced houses in our valley. They are now very high priced and mostly vacant rental properties. Thank God we are fighting wars to preserve those rights to greediness.

"Just say NO" to quote an infamous Calyfornian.....

Surf in the morning, ski in the afternoon. Only in CA.
Ah, the great California cliche...while geographically I suppose this might be feasible, the traffic alone makes it virtually impossible.

Whether you like or dislike California, you have to admit we have the best weather out of all the contiguous states.
Only the coastal regions of SoCal, which is a fairly small part of the state. I do love the weather in coastal SoCal, but the people living here significantly detract from my enjoyment of it...to the extent that I am quite looking forward to moving back east...that, and I actually miss having seasons...so while SoCal may have the best weather all year round, that is not necessarily a positive...autumn in New England is a beautiful time of year, and quite honestly, I miss having snow in the winter.

Not really, they just combined lots of territory to form into one. If they made New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland into one state, I'm sure they would be just as good.
To match the coverage of California, a comperable cross section of America would be a mega state comprised of the Atlantic coast states of Massachusetts through Georgia. Culturally, geographically, and climate wise, you would have as diverse a state as California.

I don't hate California...like anywhere else, it has its pros and cons...however, when the greatest con against a place to live is its people and culture, that speaks volumes.

Oh and back to the OP, Las Vegas is just fine where it is...safely tucked away in Nevada...California would just find a way to ruin Las Vegas.
