"Fight, and you may die. Run, and you may live...at least for awhile. But lying in your bed, dying in your home, would you be willing to trade, *all* the days, from that 'till this, for one chance; just one chance to tell them that they may take our lives, but they may never take....

Hey are you kidding, Maximus had one of the best deaths in movie history. By the way any guy that cries for a movie is f@g!

maybe when you are older, say 16, or 17, you will have differing views on what the world really expects of males

True. To relate, or show any emotion is a sign of weakness, right? We should just be our adolescent, apathetic selves.

...oops! Sorry, I'm neither.

Personally i though braveheart was quite a bit better. I wasn't that impressed by Gladiator.

<< FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!! Still sends chills through me when I watch that part, and I still shed tears when the little
girl hands him the flower.
>>

man i dunno why there's even a poll here, Gladiator was a kitten of a plot written up by 9 year old little girls compared to the complexities of Braveheart...just because Gladiator is so recent with its success and (undeserved) Oscar, it doesn't deserve any more nodd of respect than <insert any Adam Sandler movie title here>

Both are rip-offs of Sparticus, but are still good movies.

Gladiator has some really awesome action sequences & Ridley Scott is my second favorite director (behind David Lean), BUT...Braveheart has a stronger story behind it and a much more emotion-driven lead character which makes it so much better for repeat viewings.

I loved Gladiator the first time I saw it and I've been hailing Russell Crowe as the "next-big-thing" ever since I saw LA Confidential the first time, but the problem is that the Gladiator story itself isn't all that interesting the 2nd & 3rd time. I can watch Braveheart over & over again. (Sparticus too).

well, some people apparently concern themselves with script, casting, acting, cinemetography, etc., all of which Gladiator had in just the right amount

just because you didn't like the story doesn't mean it didn't provide the ingredients for a great achievement
