<< exactly! theres no credible threat to raistlin! at all! just like rand al'thor, the books suck now because its not really believable that he could be killed! >>
bsolute power corrupts absolutely.
The interesting part of reading these novels is the fact that when they become so powerful, the only real danger to them is they themselves. It's interesting to see how their character develops and responds to the fact that they have so much power. In Raistlin's case, he finally realized that be defeating the gods, he would rule absolutely over nothing. This isn't what he wanted, and that's what caused him to stop his endeavor.
In Rand al'Thor's case, which is yet to be seen, the reason why it's still interesting is because you don't know if he will kill himself. The only real credible threat to him is himself (and maybe gholam), and we have no idea how much his last "project" (from book 9) drained him or if it actually fully worked. Furthermore, the series has so many other interesting characters such as Mat, Perrin, Lan, Egwene, Elayne, Galad, Moiraine, that there's a lot more to it than simply having Rand do this, Rand do that.
But anyway... Raistlin would still own all.
